JOB PURPOSE & SUMMARY
Implement and oversee design direction and development from Principal; manage construction details from design development phase through installation phase and attend all project meetings.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- As needed, attend new (or prospective) client “fact finding” appointments, defining and outlining initial scope of work.
- Client contact; attend meetings involving Principal and Client; responsible to ensure meeting notes are issued immediately following meeting.
- Coordinate with Principal: design concept development and follow-through; color and material selection; furniture selection; furniture layouts, lighting plans, review construction schedules; construction coordination; client presentations; preparation of job sheets based on item selections; shopping; site supervision; installation and punch list/follow-up.
- Direct Interior Architecture department on design direction of drawings for assigned projects and ongoing revisions of furniture and floor plans.
- Review and oversee finish samples, custom furniture, draperies, and all work commissioned by T&M.
- Review final job sheets and proposal orders for Principal.
- Attend in-office design meetings and standing jobsite meetings and generate site meeting notes.
- In conjunction with Principal, communicate with Architects to review, design, and select architectural elements; selection and specification of construction items. Meet with Studio Director to determine/confirm scope of work, project timeline, budget, construction and design deadlines.
- Coordinate team workload assignments and troubleshoot projects; and in coordination with Studio Director, manage studio time.
- Supervise/direct design team in all aspects of project (i.e., general research, shopping, proposals, job sheets, etc.), including installation.
- Review content of all material and information submitted to client and subcontractors, including: proposals, letters, meeting notes, and status reports.
- Direct/communicate with design team on status, production checks, approvals, scheduling of vendors, deliveries, and installation. Organize and manage team effort.
- Work with Office Manager and Leadership team to train, motivate, and develop staff, including performance reviews and evaluations; assess staffing needs, review resumes, and participate in interviews of potential staff.
OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide general support to Principal and Managing Principal on executing special assignments (including photo shoot preparations, antique shows, Showcase House).

QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Degree in Interior Design or equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills have been acquired
- 10–15 years’ experience working in a high-end residential interior design firm that includes project management and budgeting experience
- Excellent customer service, communication, and management skills
- Prior experience managing staff with excellent team-building skills
- Strong organizational skills
Pay: $180,000.00 per year
