Senior DevOps Engineer

Job Description:

Centennial Technologies Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer with a strong AWS background to support our federal clients. The ideal candidate will have proven expertise in designing, developing, and implementing automated DevOps pipelines that deliver secure, scalable, and high-performing software solutions. This role requires hands-on technical expertise, deep knowledge of infrastructure automation, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to enable enterprise-grade DevOps capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Automate provisioning of AWS environments and build infrastructure from the ground up using Terraform.
• Design and develop automation workflows; perform unit testing and conduct code reviews to ensure quality, performance, and resiliency.
• Develop automation tools, CI/CD pipelines, scripts, and self-service capabilities to support platform operations.
• Provide technical direction and mentorship to a team of engineers on pipeline management, automation, and best practices.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, leadership, vendors, and engineering teams to communicate technical solutions and solve complex challenges.

Key Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of overall IT experience.
• 6+ years of DevOps/DevSecOps engineering with strong expertise in AWS cloud operations.
• Deep knowledge of AWS services (Lambda, Glue, Step Functions) and cloud-based build/deployment pipelines.
• Strong background in Infrastructure as Code (eg: Terraform, CloudFormation, Puppet) and automation frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and modern cloud-native deployment technologies.
• Proficiency with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Python scripting) and platform engineering.
• Experience working in an Enterprise/Shared Service DevOps environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience implementing Internal Developer Platforms (IDP) with Kratix and Argo CD.
• Prior experience with USDA or other federal agencies.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain Public Trust Clearance.

Work Conditions

• Location: Hybrid – 4 days onsite in Tysons Corner, VA (preferred DC Metro candidates: VA, DC, MD).
