Additionally, we provide Functional Service Provider (FSP) Solutions, supporting our clients with scientific and technical expertise, acting as an extension of their team, coordinating all laboratory related needs, advising on strategies for lab data collection and providing end-to-end analytical and logistical solutions.

Job Summary
The Senior Director of Procurement is responsible for leading the procurement function across the organization. This strategic role involves developing and executing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring cost-effective purchasing practices. The position plays a critical role in aligning procurement goals with overall business objectives and driving operational efficiency.
This job is ideally suited for candidates within commuting distance to Johnson City, TN, as onsite presence may be required at our facility. Candidates outside of this area may be required to travel to our site occasionally.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Strategic Leadership:
  • Develop and implement enterprise-wide procurement strategies.
  • Align procurement goals with organizational objectives and financial targets.
  • Lead procurement transformation initiatives and process improvements
Supplier & Contract Management:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors.
  • Negotiate contracts to secure favorable terms and mitigate risks.
  • Establish supplier diligence, quality control, and audit practices.
  • Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
Operational Oversight:
  • Oversee daily procurement operations including sourcing, purchasing, and logistics.
  • Manage procurement systems and technologies to enhance efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Manage supplier compliance with quality and regulatory requirements and customer performance metrics.
Team Leadership:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of procurement professionals.
  • Set performance goals and conduct regular evaluations.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Financial Management:
  • Manage procurement budgets and forecasts.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive value creation.
  • Conduct spend analysis and report on procurement metrics.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in procurement or supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Professional certifications such as CPSM, CPIM, or CSCP are highly desirable.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Skills and Ability:
  • Deep understanding of global sourcing and market dynamics.
  • Experience in risk management and regulatory compliance.
  • Proven track record of achieving cost savings and process optimization.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and collaborate across departments.
  • Experience with sourcing and managing services and supplies in support of clinical research, including lab services, logistics services, medical supplies and medical devices.
  • Experience with broad-based and global indirect sourcing programs including MRO, marketing, software, travel services, consulting and other professional services.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the occupant is regularly required to:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Prolonged use of computer and headphones for conference calls.
  • Communicate effectively via phone, video, and email.
  • Use hands and fingers to operate a computer and other office equipment.
