Description
Senior Director, Product Management
Location: Remote; Hybrid to Wayne, PA; Hybrid to Naperville, IL
How You'll Contribute to Our Mission
The Senior Director of Product Management is a senior product leader responsible for defining
and driving the strategy, outcomes, and evolution of a mission-critical product domain at
Frontline Education.
This role carries Senior Director scope due to the strategic importance, scale, and complexity of
the domain, as well as the level of decision-making, influence, and accountability required —
not because of portfolio breadth or generalized ownership. You will operate at an executive
altitude, shaping high-impact product decisions that materially affect customers, the business,
and Frontline’s long-term direction.
As part of Frontline’s empowered product organization, you will enable Product Managers,
Designers, and Engineers to operate with clarity, autonomy, and accountability. You will ensure
discovery, delivery, and learning are tightly connected, and that teams consistently solve the
right problems with measurable results.
How You'll Drive Success
Strategic Domain Leadership
- Own the long-term product strategy for a highly complex, high-impact product domain that is
central to Frontline’s mission and business performance.
- Translate company strategy into domain-level bets, defining clear problem statements,
hypotheses, and success metrics.
- Make high-stakes product decisions that balance near-term outcomes with long-term
scalability, quality, and product health.
- Serve as the primary product authority for the domain, providing clarity and direction in
ambiguous or high-risk situations.
Outcome Accountability
- Be accountable for material customer and business outcomes within the domain, such as
retention, adoption, revenue influence, operational efficiency, risk reduction, or customer
satisfaction.
- Define success metrics that are reviewed at senior and executive levels, ensuring transparency
and evidence-based decision-making.
- Continuously assess product performance and adjust strategy based on data, customer insight,
and market signals.
Empowered Team Enablement
- Lead and coach Product Managers operating in an empowered product model, ensuring strong
ownership from discovery through delivery.
- Ensure teams have the context, constraints, and clarity needed to make high-quality decisions
independently.
- Champion continuous discovery practices so teams deeply understand customer problems
before committing to solutions.
- Act as an escalation point for complex trade-offs, prioritization conflicts, and cross-team
dependencies without absorbing day-to-day execution.
Cross-Functional Influence
- Partner closely with Engineering and Product Design leaders to align on technical feasibility,
experience quality, and delivery sustainability.
- Influence priorities across Go-To-Market, Customer Success, Finance, and Operations through
insight, data, and clear articulation of impact.
- Represent the domain in executive forums, ensuring leadership has a clear understanding of
risks, opportunities, and outcomes.
- Support strategic customer engagements and high-visibility initiatives where product
leadership is critical.
Discovery, Delivery & Quality
- Ensure discovery and delivery are integrated, with fast feedback loops between customer
insight and shipped value.
- Promote modern product practices that balance speed, quality, compliance, and long-term
maintainability.
- Hold teams accountable for delivering outcomes, not just features, while maintaining
reliability and trust with customers.
What Success Looks Like
- The product domain delivers measurable, material impact to customers and the business.
- Teams are empowered, aligned, and confident in their decision-making.
- Discovery is continuous, evidence-driven, and directly informs delivery priorities.
- Cross-functional partners trust product leadership for clarity, judgment, and follow-through.
- The domain is recognized internally as strategically sound, resilient, and continuously
improving.
