Position Summary
At PROENERGY, we emphasize a ONE-TEAM approach where our Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Start-Up, Document Controls, and Operations teams work seamlessly for our clients as a solutions provider for the power industry. We are seeking a Senior Electrical Designer reporting directly to the Senior Manager of Electrical Design as we continue to build our in-house EPC engineering and design team. This designer will focus on routing cable raceway and circuits along with modeling equipment but also contributing to our department in creating guidelines and procedures. Electrical codes and databases will all need constant review as our standards and codes change. You will need to work collaboratively with our integrated EPC team along with our clients to execute and provide world class, quality focused deliverables for our construction team. Your ability to adapt and be flexible will be invaluable as you coordinate multiple jobs, develop guidelines and procedures, and provide design oversight to our subsidiaries. This position would be in person at our Kansas City office location in Leawood, KS.

Position Responsibilities
- Leads the projects electrical design including client facing meetings and will manage to the scope, budget, and schedule for electrical design on projects you are assigned to, inclusive of executing management.
- Design electrical raceway systems including duct bank, tray, and above ground conduit or model 3D equipment items for power plant systems including simple cycle gas balance of plant systems.
- Route cable through raceway design ensuring applicable codes and fill is adhered to working in collaboration with engineering
- Plan and develop drawings for production work including design studies, design layout and calculations.
- Understand and develop the capability of quality checking in the 3D models for interferences and constructability optimizations.
- Resolve comments on checked drawings; understand and implement the comments made.
- Complete as-builts by utilizing RFIs, ECNs and red-marked drawings from construction to develop “Conformed to Construction Records” as required.
- Work collaboratively with our integrated EPC team along with our clients to execute RFIs, deliverable reviews, change order requests, engineering equipment buyout support, etc
- Foster high performing teams and behavior to execute projects.
- Ability to mentor and develop team members including technical guidance to others regarding projects and disciplines
- Seek ways to improve customer satisfaction, the quality of the work product, and operating efficiencies.
- Help develop, review, and implement guidelines and procedures to ensure design standardization and templating of our PowerFLX work.
- Stay up to date with the latest technology and industry practices and find practical applications.
- Interpret and incorporate design codes and specifications related to design requirements.
- Check design for consistency, safety, operability, quality, and maintenance requirements before submitting to checking.
- Leads quality checks of the design and engineering of project to ensure accuracy.
- Establishes credibility in terms of technical competency and team leading ability.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in drafting technology, design or related fields or High School Diploma with Relevant coursework/experience
- Eight (8) years of experience in related work field
- Ability to utilize both 2D and 3D applications to prepare engineering drawings.
- Advanced understanding of design software such as: SCADA Systems PanelDES or ElecDES, E3D, Plant 3D, Smartplant 3D, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Excel to develop the design deliverables. Ability to learn and effectively utilize new design software programs.
- Participates in team environment effectively. Accepts direction from the team. Individually contributes to the success of the team.
- Supports project teams and departments in a positive and productive manner. Works well with others to accomplish common goals and objectives.
- Able to manage multiple responsibilities and tasks with set expectations.
- Knowledgeable of the ANSI, IEEE, API, NEC, and other industry codes, specifications, and standards

- Proactively provides guidance and direction on department design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes
- Ability to work collaboratively with others including, but not limited to Project Managers, Engineers, Designers, and constructability personnel in a multi-disciplined project team environment to resolve design or drawing issues as appropriate and to accomplish our goals.
- Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies.
- Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required.
- Advanced understanding of Raceway or electrical modeling and code requirements with Experience in EPC Power Industry.
- US work authorization is a precondition of employment. The company will not consider candidates who require sponsorship for a work-authorized visa.
