SENIOR ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

Overall Purpose of the role

Ensure that the Contractor at site is executing the Electrical works as per the agreement requirements and the specifications of the client. The Electrical Engineer performs tasks assigned independently with minimum guidance from his line manager.

Expectations & Responsibilities related to your role

1- SITE MANAGEMENT & DELIVERABLES – CONSTRUCTION STAGE

· Review the Electrical drawings, reports, SPECIFICATION and Materials submitted by the CONTRACTOR(S) at each stage of the Design I Construction to ensure completeness, correctness, compliance with the Scope of WORK and agreements requirements.

· Carry out construct ability review during the Design I Construction and modification stages.

· Review in a timely manner the CONTRACTOR(S) and SUB-CONTRACTOR(S) submittals and forward comments to the Engineering Manager.

· Ensure the CONTRACTOR(S) incorporate the comments raised from previous stages.

• Clearly understand and articulate systems and be a “proactive forward looking” individual
• Capable of evaluation, selection and application of standard engineering techniques and procedures
• Writing design narratives & engineering analysis

· Attend Technical Meetings with the CONTRACTOR(S), Sub-Contractor’s Team.

· Review CONTRACTOR I CONSULTANT'S proposed design organizations and related CV's and report to Engineering Manager on his findings.

· Coordinate with PMC's Document Controller and PMT QA/QC Eng. to ensure that all Documents related to his discipline are properly controlled.

· Review any alternatives to the Design concept submitted by the CONTRACTOR(S) and SUB-CONTRACTOR(S), prepare and submit a report including recommendation to Engineering Manager highlighting advantages and disadvantages of each alternative.

· Review the materials proposed by the CONTRACTOR(S) and SUBCONTRACTOR(S) and propose alternatives to improve the quality, future maintenance, safety and cost effectiveness.

· Review the change requests I VARIATIONS submitted by the CONTRACTOR(S)., operational issues, procurement status, construction/engineering problems/issues, correspondence status, claims status, project variations status and actions taken to address concerns, and progress photographs.

2- TECHNICAL AND QA/QC

· Ensuring compliance with specifications, codes, or customer requirements by directing or coordinating installation, manufacturing, construction, maintenance, documentation, support or testing activities.

· Supervising or training project team members.

· Working with a variety of technicians

· Review and comments on the content, standards, documents, specifications and other project documents related to his trade/discipline and report any flaws, ambiguities, mistakes or any missing details in drawing or documents.

· Coordinates on time reviews and comments on the materials and samples (when required).

Education and Training

· Degree educated – Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.

· Eligible for GCC engineering membership.

· Knowledge of local laws and regulations.

· Knowledge in International and Regional Codes & Standards.

· Excellent command of written and spoken English.

Experience

· Previous experience of minimum 15 years as Electrical Engineer.

· 10 years minimum experience on a large-sized construction project.

· Commercial management experience.

· Experienced in managing and coordinating project tasks.
