Senior Electrical Engineer

The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for the design, coordination, supervision, and execution of electrical systems in MEP projects including commercial, residential, industrial, and infrastructure developments. The role ensures that all electrical designs and installations comply with project specifications, international standards, and local authority regulations.

Key Responsibilities1. Electrical Design & Engineering

  • Develop electrical design concepts for MEP projects.
  • Prepare electrical load calculations, voltage drop calculations, and short circuit analysis.
  • Design and review:
  • Power distribution systems
  • Lighting systems
  • Earthing & lightning protection systems
  • Emergency power systems
  • Low current systems
  • Prepare single line diagrams, schematics, and detailed design drawings.

2. Technical Coordination

  • Coordinate electrical design with mechanical, plumbing, architectural, and structural teams.
  • Participate in design review meetings with consultants and clients.
  • Resolve clashes using BIM/Revit/Navisworks where applicable.

3. Authority Compliance

Ensure compliance with:

  • Local electrical regulations
  • Authority requirements such as:
  • Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA)
  • Abu Dhabi Distribution Company (ADDC)
  • Saudi Electricity Company (SEC)
  • International standards such as:
  • International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC)
  • National Fire Protection Association (NFPA)

4. Project Management

  • Lead electrical engineering activities for assigned projects.
  • Review contractor shop drawings and material submittals.
  • Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to schedules.
  • Provide technical support during construction.

5. Site Supervision

  • Inspect electrical installations on site.
  • Ensure installation complies with approved drawings and specifications.
  • Conduct testing and commissioning of electrical systems.

6. Documentation & Reporting

  • Prepare engineering reports and technical documentation.
  • Review method statements and risk assessments.
  • Maintain project documentation and records.

Required QualificationsEducation

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.

Experience

  • 8–12 years experience in electrical engineering within the MEP industry.
  • Experience in large-scale commercial, residential, or infrastructure projects.
