Job Summary

The Senior Electrical Site Engineer is responsible for supervising, coordinating, and managing all electrical site activities related to construction EPC and Water Networks Projects, ensuring that electrical works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, quality standards, safety regulations, and project timelines. The role includes overseeing installation, testing, commissioning, subcontractor coordination, and compliance with Saudi codes and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

1. Site Supervision & Execution

  • Supervise and monitor all on-site electrical construction activities.
  • Ensure electrical works are executed according to approved IFC drawings, specifications, method statements, and project schedules.
  • Coordinate daily site activities for electrical installations including:
  • Cable trays
  • Conduits and containment systems
  • Power and lighting systems
  • Earthing and lightning protection systems
  • LV panels and MDB/SMDB/DB installations
  • Fire alarm system interfaces
  • Low current / ELV system coordination
  • Generators, transformers, and related equipment (if applicable)
  • Review and verify site conditions before execution.

2. Coordination with Other Disciplines

  • Coordinate electrical works with civil, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and architectural teams.
  • Attend site coordination meetings and resolve technical clashes.
  • Ensure proper interface management between electrical and MEP systems.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, consultants, and client representatives for inspections and approvals.

3. Technical Review & Documentation

  • Review electrical shop drawings, as-built drawings, and material submittals before execution.
  • Ensure all electrical materials used at site are approved by consultant/client.
  • Interpret design drawings and identify discrepancies or technical issues.
  • Raise RFIs (Requests for Information) for unresolved technical matters.
  • Prepare method statements, work progress reports, and site inspection requests (IRs).

4. Quality Assurance / Quality Control

  • Ensure all electrical installations comply with project specifications, Saudi Building Code (SBC), SEC standards (if applicable), and international standards such as IEC/NFPA where required.
  • Conduct site inspections and ensure compliance with QA/QC procedures.
  • Coordinate inspections with consultant/client and close NCRs/snags/punch list items.
  • Verify testing and commissioning activities for electrical systems.

5. Planning & Progress Monitoring

  • Prepare and monitor short-term and long-term electrical work plans.
  • Track progress against project milestones and report delays or risks.
  • Coordinate manpower, materials, tools, and equipment to achieve productivity targets.
  • Support planning team with look-ahead schedules and progress updates.

6. Testing & Commissioning

  • Supervise pre-commissioning and commissioning of electrical systems.
  • Coordinate insulation resistance tests, continuity tests, functional tests, and energization procedures.
  • Ensure proper documentation of test reports and commissioning records.
  • Assist in final handover documentation and client closeout process.

7. Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure all electrical works are performed in compliance with HSE policies and site safety standards.
  • Enforce permit-to-work requirements and electrical safety procedures.
  • Conduct toolbox talks and ensure safe working practices for electrical teams.
  • Identify hazards and report unsafe acts/conditions immediately.

8. Team Leadership

  • Lead and mentor junior electrical engineers, supervisors, and foremen.
  • Allocate tasks and monitor subcontractor performance.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to site teams.
  • Evaluate workmanship quality and ensure adherence to project standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering .
  • Valid engineering classification/registration is preferred (e.g., Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) ).
  • Additional certifications in QA/QC, HSE, or project management are an advantage.

Experience Requirements

  • 7–12+ years of experience in electrical construction works.
  • Minimum 3–5 years in a senior site role on large-scale building or infrastructure projects in KSA or GCC .
  • Strong experience in construction EPC and Water projects such as:
  • Commercial towers
  • Infrastructure Projects
  • Water Network and Sewage Projects
  • Industrial facilities
  • Mixed-use developments
  • Experience working with consultants, clients, and subcontractors in Saudi Arabia is highly preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of:
  • Electrical distribution systems
  • Power & lighting installations
  • Earthing & lightning protection
  • Low current / ELV coordination
  • Testing & commissioning procedures
  • Familiarity with:
  • Saudi Building Code (SBC)
  • SEC standards (where applicable)

Preferred Candidate Profile

  • Experience in Saudi Arabia construction EPC Projects.
  • Valid Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) registration preferred.
  • Familiarity with Aramco / SABIC / Royal Commission / SEC / major consultant standards is a plus depending on project type.
  • Strong English communication; Arabic is an advantage.
