Key Responsibilities1. Design Review & Technical Control
- Review electrical design drawings, load schedules, SLDs, and technical calculations.
- Ensure compliance with DEWA, SEWA, FEWA, ADDC, and international standards (IEC, BS, NEC).
- Approve material submittals for cables, switchgear, MDBs, SMDBs, DBs, lighting, earthing, ELV systems, etc.
- Prepare and review method statements, shop drawings, and technical reports.
2. Site Execution & Supervision
- Supervise installation of:
- LV/MV distribution systems
- Lighting & small power
- Earthing & lightning protection
- Fire alarm & emergency systems
- ELV systems (CCTV, access control, BMS, telecom)
- Conduct site inspections to ensure work quality and compliance with approved drawings.
- Monitor contractor performance and ensure adherence to project timelines.
- Lead testing & commissioning (T&C) of all electrical systems.
3. Coordination & Project Management
- Coordinate with mechanical, civil, and architectural teams to avoid clashes.
- Attend progress, coordination, and technical meetings with consultants and clients.
- Resolve site issues by providing engineering solutions.
- Manage subcontractors and ensure proper sequencing of MEP activities.
4. Procurement & Documentation
- Review BOQs, specifications, and tender documents.
- Evaluate vendor proposals and select electrical equipment.
- Track material procurement and delivery schedules.
- Maintain logs, reports, and documentation for QA/QC and project management.
5. Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all electrical works follow QA/QC procedures.
- Conduct inspections and ensure compliance with HSE standards.
- Prepare snag lists and ensure closure before handover.
- Ensure all systems pass authority inspections (DEWA, SEWA, Civil Defense, Etisalat/DU).
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of LV/MV systems, ELV, fire alarm, and power distribution.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit (BIM), Dialux, ETAP.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple contractors and fast‑track projects.
- Excellent problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
- 8–15+ years of experience in MEP construction (UAE/GCC experience preferred).
- Strong knowledge of UAE authority approval processes.
- Certifications such as PMP, LEED, CEng are an advantage.
