Senior Engineer (Hydrology)

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and provide technical support for hydrology and stormwater engineering across planning, design, and delivery phases of infrastructure and water related projects
• Direct rainfall runoff modeling, flood risk assessments, hydraulic simulations, and watershed analysis using industry standard software tools
• Develop and review flood mitigation strategies including detention systems, diversion channels, wadi channelization, stormwater networks, and sustainable drainage solutions
• Oversee preparation and approval of hydrological and hydraulic design deliverables including calculations, models, reports, specifications, drawings, and tender documentation
• Ensure full compliance with local regulations, environmental requirements, and international standards such as AASHTO, FHWA, ISO, and relevant water authority guidelines
• Coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams including civil, drainage, environmental, transportation, and utilities engineers
• Contribute to proposals, technical bids, by defining scope and methodology.
• Participate in site visits, construction support, and technical troubleshooting when required

Required Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, or related field
• Master’s degree in Hydrology, Water Resources, or Hydraulic Engineering is preferred
• Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in hydrology and stormwater engineering
• Regional experience in Oman or GCC is strongly preferred
• Demonstrated experience dealing directly with regulatory authorities and client approvals
• Advanced knowledge of rainfall runoff modeling and flood risk analysis
• Proficiency in hydrology and hydraulic software
• Strong understanding of drainage design standards and stormwater management practices
• Familiarity with GIS tools and data analysis platforms
• Ability to review and validate complex technical documentation
• Membership in Oman Society of Engineers or relevant professional body is an advantage
• Strong technical leadership and decision making capability
• Excellent stakeholder management and client communication skills
• Effective written and verbal communication in English, Arabic is an advantage
