Senior Estimator – Civil

Job Summary

The Senior Estimator – Civil is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and tenders for civil construction projects. The role involves detailed quantity take-offs, cost analysis, risk assessment, and coordination with internal teams and subcontractors to ensure competitive and profitable bids.

Key Responsibilities Estimation & Tendering

• Prepare detailed cost estimates, BOQs, and tender submissions for civil works
• Perform quantity take-offs from drawings, specifications, and tender documents
• Analyze tender requirements, scope, and contractual conditions

Cost Analysis & Pricing

• Evaluate material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs
• Obtain and analyze quotations from suppliers and subcontractors
• Prepare cost comparisons and recommend optimized pricing strategies

Risk & Value Engineering

• Identify commercial and technical risks during tender stage
• Propose value engineering and cost-saving solutions
• Assess project feasibility and profit margins

Coordination & Review

• Coordinate with design, planning, procurement, and construction teams
• Participate in pre-bid meetings and clarifications
• Review estimates for accuracy, completeness, and compliance

Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare tender reports and pricing breakdowns
• Maintain cost databases and historical pricing records
• Support management in bid approval and submission processes

Skills Required

• Strong knowledge of civil construction methods and materials
• Excellent numerical, analytical, and cost evaluation skills
• Strong negotiation and communication skills
• Proficiency in MS Excel and estimation software
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tender deadlines
• Strong attention to detail and commercial awareness

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering / Quantity Surveying (Preferred)

Experience

• Minimum 5–8 years of experience in civil estimation
• Experience in large-scale residential, commercial, or infrastructure projects

Preferred

• Experience in UAE / GCC construction market
