The Senior Estimator Engineer is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, budgets, and tender submissions for construction projects. The role requires strong technical expertise, market knowledge, and analytical skills to ensure competitive and profitable bids.
Key Responsibilities
- Review project drawings, specifications, and tender documents to prepare detailed cost estimates.
- Conduct quantity take-offs and prepare bills of quantities (BOQ).
- Analyze labor, material, and equipment requirements to establish cost data.
- Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations.
- Prepare tender proposals, cost breakdowns, and value engineering options.
- Support project teams in cost planning, monitoring, and control during execution.
- Identify risks, opportunities, and cost-saving measures.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and stakeholders on estimation and tendering matters.
- Maintain updated records of cost databases, market prices, and supplier information.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior estimators.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field.
- Minimum 8–10 years of experience in estimation within the construction industry, with at least 3–4 years in a senior role.
- Strong knowledge of tendering procedures, cost control, and local market rates in Qatar.
- Proficiency in estimation software (e.g., Candy, CCS, Excel, AutoCAD).
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with Qatar construction regulations and standards.
