Operational since 2020, Botanica has grown and supplied more than 7 million plants to landscape RSG’s destinations, aiming to deliver 30 million plants by 2030. Botanica also provides immersive educational experiences for guests at The Red Sea, AMAALA, and beyond.
The nursery features diverse local plants, flowers, and other vegetation. Any new species introduced is carefully planned and follows comprehensive evaluations to guarantee harmonious integration with the existing flora and fauna.
Job Purpose
The Senior Manager – Landscape Nursery Operations is a key operational leadership role responsible for managing day-to-day nursery activities and supporting the strategic direction set by the Associate Director. The role focuses on efficient planning, production, and maintenance of high-quality plant material for large-scale landscape projects, ensuring strong horticultural standards, resource optimization, and alignment with sustainability objectives.
Job Responsibilities

Lead and supervise daily nursery operations, including propagation, maintenance, and upgrading, quality management, pest and disease management, and seasonal planning, escalating strategic issues to the Associate Director as required.

Manage, coach, and develop a team of horticulturists, nursery technicians, and support staff to deliver consistent operational performance and high plant quality.

Coordinate with landscape architects, designers, project managers, and the Associate Director to ensure nursery output aligns with design intent, project specifications, and timelines.

Assist in developing and executing production schedules based on project timelines and demand forecasts, monitoring progress and recommending adjustments to the Management.

Maintain and continuously improve inventory control systems for plants, tools, consumables, and materials, ensuring accurate records and efficient stock rotation.

Implement and monitor environmentally responsible practices to promote biodiversity, resource efficiency, and waste minimization within nursery operations.

Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations, as well as horticultural standards and internal policies, and support incident reporting and corrective actions.

Support the Associate Director in managing operational budgets, procurement activities, and vendor relationships, providing input on cost control and value optimization.

Oversee the day-to-day operation and maintenance of greenhouse, shade house, and outdoor nursery facilities to ensure optimal growing conditions and asset upkeep.

Monitor plant health, soil conditions, irrigation performance, and climate impacts on nursery stock, implementing corrective and preventive actions where required.

Review plants BOQs for assigned RSG projects and provide operational inputs and feasibility assessments to the Associate Director.

Manage plant receiving and dispatch processes, ensuring quality checks, accurate documentation, and timely delivery to project sites.

Prepare periodic operational reports and metrics for the Associate Director, highlighting performance, risks, and improvement opportunities.

Job Requirements
Qualification and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture, Landscape Architecture, Agricultural Science, or related field (Master’s preferred).

8–12 years of progressive experience in nursery or horticulture operations, including 3–5 years in a senior management or supervisory role.

Strong knowledge of plant propagation, pest and disease control, soil science, irrigation, and nursery infrastructure.

Experience with inventory management systems and scheduling or planning tools.

Strong communication, leadership, and team-building skills with the ability to lead multi-cultural teams.

Solid analytical, problem-solving, and budgeting skills, and proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Experience with native and drought-resistant plant species, preferably in arid or coastal environments.
Skills

English – fluent; Arabic – basic (preferred, not mandatory).

Certification in horticulture, nursery management, or a related discipline is an advantage.

Familiarity with sustainable landscape practices and ecological restoration.

Multilingual proficiency is an advantage depending on geographic location.
