Senior Financial Business Analyst

Position Overview:
The Senior Financial Business Analyst partners with Finance, Product, Pricing, Procurement, and other business teams to deliver insights that drive operational and strategic decisions. The role blends strong business acumen with advanced analytical capability, using SQL, Excel, and BI tools to evaluate business alternatives, build decision frameworks, and communicate insights to leadership. This position leads the end‑to‑end development of analytics solutions—from problem framing to data preparation, modeling, visualization, and adoption—while collaborating with data science resources when advanced statistical or machine learning techniques are required. The analyst works across large, complex datasets (including semi‑structured sources) and transforms them into clear, actionable recommendations that influence business outcomes.
Responsibilities:
  • Partner with Finance, Product, Pricing, Procurement, and cross‑functional teams to understand business priorities and translate them into analytical frameworks.
  • Extract, cleanse, transform, and integrate data from multiple systems using SQL, including semi‑structured and unstructured sources.
  • Build scenario models, financial frameworks, and decision tools to evaluate business alternatives, quantify impacts, and support forecasting and planning.
  • Analyze sales, margin, product, customer, and channel performance to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Develop dashboards, KPI frameworks, and automated reporting using Power BI, Power Pivot, and advanced Excel.
  • Benchmark performance using internal and external data sources and synthesize industry and market insights for leadership.
  • Support the development of financial forecasts by linking operational drivers to financial outcomes and providing insights on volume, price, cost, and mix.
  • Lead the end‑to‑end rollout of analytics solutions, ensuring clarity of business objectives, data quality, and adoption by stakeholders.
  • Communicate insights through structured storytelling and executive‑ready presentations tailored to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Collaborate with data science teams when advanced modeling (e.g., predictive analytics, optimization, segmentation) is required, ensuring alignment with business needs.
  • Document analytical objectives, data sources, assumptions, methodologies, and results to ensure transparency, repeatability, and long‑term usability.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of finance experience
  • At least 1 years of lead experience
OR
  • Master's degree and at least 3 years of finance experience
  • At least 1 years of lead experience
OR
  • At least 8 years of finance experience
  • At least 1 years of lead experience

Desired Skills:
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to evaluate and compare business alternatives and understand operational drivers.
  • Advanced Excel capability, including complex formulas, modeling logic, scenario analysis, and structured model design.
  • Strong SQL skills with experience in data extraction, cleansing, manipulation, and integration across structured and semi‑structured datasets.
  • Proficiency with Power BI or Power Pivot for dashboarding, KPI development, and automated reporting.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, including the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for leadership.
  • Effective data storytelling and the ability to influence decisions through structured, compelling narratives.
  • Experience leading end‑to‑end analytics solution development, from problem definition to adoption.
  • Ability to work cross‑functionally and build strong business partnerships.
  • Understanding of Python, R, and machine learning concepts (execution may be outsourced).
  • Degree in Finance (preferred), Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Math, or a related field
