We are an engineering and contracting company specialising in industrial and infrastructure projects in Saudi Arabia. Due to rapid growth and project volume, we are currently facing cashflow pressures and are looking to strengthen our financial management and planning.
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Financial Consultant to step in on a fixed-term assignment to help us stabilise, restructure, and optimise our finances. The ideal candidate is a hands-on financial expert with proven experience in cashflow management, debt restructuring, cost control, and turnaround situations for contracting / construction companies.
This is not a routine accounting role – we are looking for someone who can diagnose problems, propose solutions, and implement them with management.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Diagnosis & Recovery Plan
- Review current financial position, debts, liabilities, project cashflows, and existing commitments.
- Identify root causes of cashflow issues and profitability gaps.
- Develop a clear financial recovery and stabilisation plan with milestones and timelines.
- Cashflow & Working Capital Management
- Prepare 3–12 month cashflow forecasts and scenarios.
- Improve cash collection cycles (clients, progress payments, retention, change orders).
- Propose and implement working capital optimisation measures.
- Debt & Bank Relationship Management
- Review existing loans, facilities, and payment terms.
- Advise on debt restructuring, rescheduling, and consolidation options.
- Support management in negotiations with banks, financial institutions, and key suppliers.
- Cost Control & Profitability
- Analyse project-level profitability and overheads.
- Recommend cost-cutting measures that do not compromise critical operations and safety.
- Help set up basic budgeting and cost-control systems for projects and departments.
- Systems, Reporting & Controls
- Improve financial reporting for management: cashflow reports, aging reports, project P&L.
- Create simple dashboards / templates so management can see real-time financial health.
- Recommend process improvements in coordination with accounting and commercial teams.
Key Deliverables (First 3–6 Months)
- Clear financial assessment report of current situation.
- Practical cashflow improvement plan with immediate, short-term, and medium-term actions.
- Debt restructuring / negotiation strategy and support in execution.
- Implemented basic budgeting and reporting tools usable by the internal team after you leave.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field; CPA / CMA / CFA / MBA is an advantage.
- 8–15+ years of experience in finance, preferably with:
- Construction / contracting / industrial companies, or
- Turnaround / restructuring / financial recovery projects.
- Strong experience in cashflow management, debt negotiation, and financial restructuring.
- Solid understanding of project-based business, progress billing, and cost control.
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills; familiarity with ERP/accounting systems is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills in English; Arabic is an asset.
