Senior Financial Planning & Analyst

Description:
Pacific Scientific Energetic Materials Company (PacSci EMC), a leader in energetic material solutions for the aerospace and defense industry, is seeking a Financial Analyst to join our Hollister, CA team. PacSci EMC supports mission‑critical commercial and defense programs worldwide. In this role, you will partner with site leadership and cross‑functional teams to ensure financial accuracy, drive performance, and contribute to high‑impact aerospace and defense programs.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Communicate the operating company’s financial performance, plans, and targets across the organization.
  • Analyze monthly variances to forecast, plan, prior period, and prior year.
  • Perform ad‑hoc financial analysis for strategic and operational initiatives.
  • Partner with accounting, finance, operations, supply chain, program management, pricing, and contracts to develop monthly forecasts and budgets.
  • Apply RBS (Ralliant Business System) principles to support continuous improvement.
  • Identify financial risks and opportunities proactively and recommend actions.
  • Communicate clear, data‑driven insights to support business decisions.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a related field.
  • Strong Excel, financial modeling, and/or data analytics skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships in a team environment.
  • Intellectual curiosity and learning agility.
  • Motivation for continuous improvement.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
  • High attention to detail to ensure accuracy in reporting, forecasting, and planning.
  • Knowledge of government accounting and GAAP preferred.
  • Aerospace and defense experience a plus.
  • U.S. Citizenship required per ITAR regulations.
Preferred Requirements:
  • MBA with a finance concentration.
  • More than 5 years of FP&A or financial analysis experience.
  • Experience in supply chain or working capital management.
  • Knowledge of DFAR and Earned Value Management.
  • Government accounting experience.
Key Competencies:
  • Willingness to dig into financial data and cross‑functional challenges.
  • Comfort working through ambiguous or evolving situations.
  • Strong FP&A background.
  • Proficiency in data analysis (SQL, Power BI, or strong systems aptitude).
  • High accuracy in financial reporting and forecasting.
  • Accountability for meeting deadlines and commitments.
  • Proactive business partnership with program teams, factory managers, and functional leaders.
  • Manufacturing or factory operations experience preferred; strong financial statement experience from other industries considered.

Pay Range
The salary range for this position (in local currency) is 91700.00-170100.00
