Job Summary
The Senior Formwork Engineer is responsible for the design, planning, analysis, and implementation of formwork and scaffolding systems for construction projects. The role ensures safe, efficient, and cost-effective temporary works solutions while supporting project teams throughout the construction lifecycle.
Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical & Engineering
- Design and review formwork, falsework, and scaffolding systems for concrete structures.
- Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, and method statements.
- Verify structural adequacy and compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications.
- Develop temporary works designs for complex structures including high-rise buildings, bridges, tunnels, and industrial facilities.
- Conduct load analysis and stability assessments for formwork and support systems.
- Coordinate with structural engineers, contractors, and consultants regarding temporary works requirements.
Project Management
- Support project planning by developing formwork methodologies and construction sequences.
- Monitor formwork installation and dismantling activities to ensure compliance with approved designs.
- Provide technical guidance to site teams during construction.
- Identify and resolve engineering issues related to temporary works.
- Review subcontractor submissions and shop drawings.
Safety & Quality
- Ensure all formwork systems comply with safety regulations and industry best practices.
- Conduct risk assessments and participate in safety reviews.
- Perform site inspections and audits to verify proper installation and usage.
- Support incident investigations and implement corrective actions when required.
- Ensure quality standards are maintained throughout project execution.
Commercial & Client Support
- Assist in preparing technical proposals and tender submissions.
- Optimize formwork solutions to improve productivity and reduce costs.
- Provide technical presentations and support to clients and project stakeholders.
- Evaluate formwork materials and equipment requirements.
Leadership
- Mentor junior engineers and drafting personnel.
- Lead technical reviews and design coordination meetings.
- Support workforce development through training and knowledge sharing.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE), Chartered Engineer, or equivalent certification preferred.
- 8–15+ years of experience in formwork, scaffolding, temporary works, or structural engineering.
- Experience with major construction projects such as high-rise, or commercial developments.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of reinforced concrete construction methods.
- Expertise in formwork and scaffolding design principles.
- Proficiency in engineering software such as:
- AutoCAD
- Revit
- Knowledge of international standards and temporary works regulations.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Pay: AED10,000.00 - AED12,000.00 per month
