Senior GCP Administrator Freelancing

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior GCP Administrator with strong DevOps skills to engage as a Freelance Consultant. The consultant will be responsible for reviewing, optimizing, securing, and maintaining our existing Google Cloud Platform infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on cost optimization, security best practices, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Review current GCP infrastructure and architecture for efficiency, scalability, and reliability
• Optimize GCP costs using best practices (billing analysis, resource right sizing, committed use discounts, etc.)
• Implement and enforce GCP security best practices (IAM, VPC, firewall rules, audit logs, compliance)
• Maintain and monitor GCP environments (prod / non-prod) for availability and performance
• Design and manage CI/CD pipelines aligned with GCP services
• Automate infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Set up monitoring, logging, and alerting using native GCP tools
• Provide recommendations and documentation for continuous improvement

Required Skills & Experience

• 4+ years of hands-on experience administering Google Cloud Platform
• Strong experience with GCP services such as Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Storage, VPC, IAM, Cloud SQL, and Load Balancing
• Solid DevOps experience: CI/CD, automation, and cloud-native operations
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred)
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging)
• Strong understanding of cloud security and cost governance

Certifications (Mandatory)

• Google Cloud Certified – Professional Cloud Architect and/or
• Google Cloud Certified – Professional DevOps Engineer (preferred)

Good to Have

• Experience with containerization and Kubernetes (GKE)
• Exposure to compliance and security standards (ISO, SOC2, etc.)
• Ability to work independently and provide strategic cloud recommendations

Engagement Expectations

• Freelance / consulting engagement with defined deliverables
• Periodic infrastructure review and optimization reports
• On-demand support for critical GCP issues

Job Types: Part-time, Freelance
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: Up to ₹400.00 per hour

Expected hours: 1 – 10 per week
