Job Summary:

A Senior HR Generalist at HRtoGO, services as a trusted partner to clients, under the guidance of a Senior HR Consultant, providing comprehensive compliance driven recommendation and service in alignment with federal, state and local law. This position involves independent decision-making, handling employee relations matters, conducting policy analysis, and designing tailored HR solutions for clients. The Senior HR Generalist works autonomously, partnering with HR Consultants to develop and implement support to clients.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Supports Consultants by providing guidance to clients on wage and hour laws, employee relations, and compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws.
  • Ability to independently interpret and apply labor laws (e.g., FMLA, CFRA, ADA, FEHA, PDL, wage and hour regulations) to ensure legal compliance in HR policies and decisions.
  • Maintains consistent communication and provides updates to consultants and clients on project, questions, etc.
  • Conducts HR audits and risk assessments for clients, identifying areas of non-compliance and implementing corrective actions.
  • Conducts research as needed and provides information in a professional format to Consultants and clients.
  • Manages complex employee relations matters, including workplace investigations, disciplinary actions, conflict resolution, and performance improvement plans.
  • Develops, revises, and implements customized HR policies, procedures, and handbooks for clients, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and legal requirements.
  • Conducts wage and benefit surveys within labor market to determine competitive wage rate. Prepares wage and benefit survey reports for clients.
  • Partners with clients to develop workforce planning strategies, including succession planning, organizational design, and leadership development initiatives.
  • Analyzes industry trends, compensation data, and employee engagement insights to provide strategic recommendations for talent retention and organizational development.
  • Designs and delivers training programs for managers and employees on critical HR topics, including harassment prevention, performance management, and legal compliance.
  • Leads client onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring alignment with HR best practices and compliance standards.
  • Leads employee classification reviews, ensuring proper FLSA and California wage & hour compliance for exempt vs. non-exempt roles.
  • Collaborates and supports HR leaders to provide strategic HR insights that drive business success.
  • Develops and maintains client HR metrics and analytics, providing data-driven insights on turnover, engagement, and workforce trends for clients.
  • Supports client with overseeing leave of absence administration, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with all applicable regulations, including but not limited to FMLA, CFRA, PDL, ADA, FEHA, Workers Comp, Military and Jury Duty, H1B visas, etc.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of HR trends, legislation, and best practices, proactively recommending policy and process improvements.
  • Maintains systematic retention, protection, retrieval, transfer, and disposal of records.
  • Prepares management and employee trainings for interviewing, hiring, termination, promotions, performance reviews, safety and unlawful harassment and other topics as needed.
  • Assists in recruiting and interviewing to determine best candidates for the clients positions.
  • Provides guidance on employee separations, including preparing termination documentation and facilitating exit discussions to ensure compliance and a smooth transition.
  • Maintains files, documents, and knowledge of operations, clients and employees in a neat and organized manner, maintaining the strictest confidence.
  • Supports a positive team working relationship with a professional work ethic and attitude.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Regular, predictable attendance is required.
  • Ability to get along and work effectively with others.

Position Requirements:

Bachelors degree and a minimum of 3-5 years of generalist human resource experience with an emphasis in employee relations and labor law, or the equivalent combination of education and experience are required. Must be comfortable interpreting state and federal law. Ability to work a flexible schedule, based on client needs. Excellent and tactful communication skills. PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-CP certification is preferred. Tech savvy, strong proficiency in MS Suite of products, experience with HRIS or other equivalent HR/payroll systems. Local travel may be required 20-30% of the workweek.

Compensation:

$80,000-$100,000/annually, full benefits, PTO and paid holidays. Hybrid work capabilities following the first 60 days of employment.
