Role Overview:
The Senior HR Manager / HR Manager will lead end-to-end HR operations for our battery OEM manufacturing business, ensuring workforce stability, compliance, capability building, and a high-performance culture across the plant and corporate functions. This role demands strong manufacturing HR expertise, hands-on people management, and the ability to partner with leadership to drive organizational growth and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities-
1. Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
- Manage recruitment for white-collar, blue-collar, and technical plant roles (operators, line supervisors, QA, R&D, maintenance, logistics, etc.).
- Build strong hiring pipelines through ITI colleges, business schools, IITs, Technical colleges, skill centers, contract staffing vendors, apprenticeship programs and internships.
- Forecast manpower needs based on production plans, product launches, operations and shift schedules.
- Reduce attrition and overtime dependency through strategic staffing plans.
2. HR Operations & Employee Life Cycle Management
- Oversee onboarding, induction, documentation, and HRIS updates.
- Manage attendance, shift rosters, OT, leave, and payroll inputs in coordination with Finance.
- Implement and monitor Factory Standing Orders, employee discipline, and attendance norms.
- Drive separation procedures—notice periods, exit documentation, F&F, recovery, and asset returns.
3. Industrial Relations & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to all statutory compliances (Factories Act, ESIC, PF, Gratuity, CLRA, Maternity Act, PoSH, etc.).
- Handle labour inspections, factory audits, and statutory filings.
- Maintain relationships with contractors, labour agencies, and local authorities.
- Resolve grievances, conduct domestic inquiries, and maintain harmonious industrial relations at all levels.
- Ensure compliance with contract labour management, wages, and statutory registers.
4. Performance Management & Training
- Lead annual appraisal cycles, goal setting, competency mapping, and performance reviews.
- Identify skill gaps and run training interventions with line managers (safety, quality, technical skills, leadership).
- Establish training calendars for plant and corporate teams.
- Promote career paths, internal mobility, and succession planning.
5. Employee Engagement & Culture Building
- Drive employee engagement activities across shifts (sports, welfare, communication forums).
- Conduct skip-level meetings, pulse surveys, and feedback mechanisms.
- Promote a culture of safety, discipline, and continuous improvement.
- Foster collaboration between corporate and plant teams.
6. HR Analytics & Reporting
- Track and publish HR dashboards—attrition, absenteeism, overtime cost, productivity, hiring metrics, training hours, and engagement scores.
- Use analytics to identify patterns and drive data-driven decision making.
7. Health, Safety & Welfare
- Partner with EHS (Environment, Health and Safety) teams to promote safety norms and compliance.
- Ensure medical check-ups, safety training, and welfare programs for employees.
- Manage canteen, transportation, PPE issuance, uniform distribution, and welfare committees.
8. Policy Development & Governance
- Update and roll out HR policies relevant to manufacturing operations.
- Ensure consistent implementation across shifts and departments.
- Establish governance mechanisms for disciplinary actions, attendance issues, and quality of worklife.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- MBA / PGDM in HR, MSW (masters of social work) , MHRM, or relevant HR discipline.
- 7–12 years of HR experience, with at least 5 years in manufacturing / plant HR.
- Experience in OEM / automotive / electronics / battery / heavy industry preferred.
- Strong understanding of Factories Act, statutory compliances, IR, and blue-collar workforce management.
- Experience working with HRIS, ATS, and payroll systems.Ability to manage HR in a fast-paced, multi-shift, high-volume production environment.
- Requires strong professional judgment and absolute confidentiality in managing salaries, personal information, and internal discussions
