Role Purpose
Comply with local, legal and international HSE standards, rules and regulations and to implement HSE Management Systems at site.
Key Accountabilities

Ensure compliance with local, legal and international HSE standards, rules and regulations, and implement HSE Management system; ensure polices regarding HSE are regularly communicated clearly to all employees; implement HSE disciplinary procedures, when required.

Carry out regular daily inspection within sites and monitor high risk activities; ensure full compliance.

Ensure risk assessments and permits to work system are implemented and followed by operatives.

Implement safety controls required to comply with local, legal and client’s requirements.

Conduct project HSE induction training and monthly HSE training to all new workers, including subcontractors.

Provide and implement project monthly HSE training schedules, including to subcontractors.

Provide job specific trainings to project workforce according to risk assessments.

Monitor all environmental compliance and report any deviation; ensure deviations are rectified.

Inspect and maintain conditions of all firefighting equipment and ensure emergency procedures are updated and implemented.

Responsible for following up on HSE meeting action points as directed by the HSE Superintendent.

Maintain and monitor accident/incident reports in line with the Company’s policies and procedures, conduct investigations and submit documentation to HSE Superintendent.

Assist HSE Superintendent in ensuring that functional HSE risk management process is in place.

Ensure safe access, housekeeping and proper safety signage; liaise with storekeepers to provide HSE required and approved materials.

Assist HSE Superintendent in liaising with project operations team, consultant, and government authorities.

Maintain and monitor accident/incident reports in line with the Company’s policies and procedures and submit documentation to HSE Superintendent.

Ensure and enforce the use of PPE and site rules.
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills

5+ years’ experience of relevant working experience (preferred in well-established contracting companies in GCC)

NEBOSH certificate holder.

Diploma or degree as required by client specs or zoning authority requirements

Ability to work in all outside weather and site conditions, including shift work within a manual/workshop environment.

Knowledge of HSE standards, Operational hazards and controls, International HSE standards.

Hands-on experience of implementing ISO 45001 & ISO 14001 requirements.

Ability to influence employees for the implementation of HSE tools.

Ability to accept direction and complete work independently, demonstrating confidence and conviction with the ability to intervene at all times.

A self-starter with a high degree of initiative.
