Koç University will be hiring a Senior Instructional Designer with the below mentioned qualifications.


Purpose of Position


To design e-learning environments for technology supported education, develop materials, and meet instructional design needs in line with Koç University's technology planning and integration processes.


Main Duties and Responsibilities


  • Planning, analyzing, designing, developing, and evaluating educational materials using instructional design models.
  • Collaborating with relevant administrative and academic units and faculties to disseminate instructional design practices.
  • Conducting needs analysis, content analysis, and target audience analysis for academic and administrative units and faculties, to create e-learning scenarios aligned with educational objectives and designing content accordingly.
  • Managing e-learning content development projects and facilitating communication among internal and external project stakeholders.
  • Providing training and support to subject area experts in developing educational materials, ensuring adherence to instructional design models.
  • Testing and presenting the produced content to internal and external customers, obtaining business unit approvals, and making necessary revisions.
  • Coordinating with relevant units to identify internal/external resources for educational processes and managing purchasing and supply activities.
  • Designing synchronous and asynchronous trainings, guidelines, and manuals for new faculty members, teaching assistants, and students on educational support technologies used in the university (e.g., Learning Management System, video conferencing system, interactive tools, and content development).
  • Organizing training sessions and preparing informative documents to promote the use of measurement and evaluation tools.
  • Participating in seminars and conferences for professional development.
  • Researching and testing domestic and foreign resources on alternative educational technologies, implementing them according to the institution's needs.
  • Analyzing business opportunities and partnerships to support the university's digitalization goals, keeping up with new products and technologies, and facilitating their integration.
  • Enhancing students' digital literacy knowledge and skills through the CPAP and DOS 171 programs, followed by administering an evaluative exam.

Technical Competency


  • Utilizes and oversees the Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Manages and leverages Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs).
  • Engages in video pre-production and post-production tasks.
  • Conducts sound editing for visual and audio content.
  • Develops necessary training materials for the institution.
  • Demonstrates expertise in the entire lifecycle of the Product/Service, including usage metrics.
  • Collaborates closely with Product Owners to comprehend institutional and user needs and proactively design innovative technologies and services.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in guiding the technology aspects of the managed Products/Services.
