Senior Interior Designer

Role Overview

The Senior Interior Designer plays a key role in leading project design from concept to completion within the fit‑out environment. This position requires strong creative vision, technical expertise, and the ability to coordinate closely with clients, project managers, engineers, and site teams. The ideal candidate is hands‑on, detail‑oriented, and experienced in delivering high‑quality commercial, hospitality, retail, or residential fit‑out projects.

Key Responsibilities

Design Development

• Lead the creation of design concepts, space planning, mood boards, and material palettes.
• Produce detailed drawings, layouts, and 3D visualizations that meet client requirements and project constraints.
• Ensure all designs are functional, buildable, and aligned with fit‑out standards and budgets.
• Develop and maintain material boards, finish schedules, and design documentation.

Project Coordination

• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and site teams to ensure smooth execution of design intent.
• Review and coordinate architectural details with joinery, MEP, and specialist subcontractors.
• Conduct site visits to verify design implementation and resolve technical issues.
• Support the preparation of tender drawings, BOQs, and design packages.

Client Interaction

• Attend client meetings, presentations, and workshops to understand requirements and present design solutions.
• Translate client briefs into creative, practical, and cost‑effective design proposals.
• Provide professional guidance on materials, finishes, and design trends.

Technical Expertise

• Prepare detailed drawings, shop drawings, and construction documentation as needed.
• Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
• Stay updated on new materials, technologies, and sustainable design practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field.
• 5–8 years of experience in interior design, preferably within a fit‑out or design‑build company.
• Strong portfolio showcasing commercial, hospitality, retail, or high‑end residential projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, 3ds Max, V‑Ray, and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Strong understanding of joinery details, materials, and fit‑out construction processes.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and client‑facing skills.
