Senior Interior Designer

Senior Interior Designer

Noelle Micek Interiors | Carmel-by-the-Sea, California

Full-Time | Hybrid (In-Studio + On-Site)

Noelle Micek Interiors is an internationally recognized full service residential design firm based in Carmel by the Sea, California, specializing in luxury estates throughout Pebble Beach, Carmel and beyond. For more than 17 years, we have built a reputation for creating timeless interiors that merge West Coast ease with East Coast polish, earning features in Coastal Living, New England Home, 25 Beautiful Homes, and other respected publications.

Our work is rooted in integrity, excellence, and the pursuit of livable luxury. We believe the spaces we inhabit should elevate daily life, bringing a sense of calm, belonging, and refinement to the families who live in them. Every project begins with listening. We take the time to understand complex lives, priorities, and aspirations, then translate them into homes that feel personal, layered, and enduring.

Our aesthetic is warmly welcoming, quietly refined, and effortlessly in control. We balance beauty and function with discipline and creativity, ensuring every detail is considered and nothing feels overdone.

We are seeking a Senior Interior Designer to join our team who enjoys responsibility, values collaboration, and understands what it means to lead work to completion. This capable individual is ready to take real ownership of projects and partner with some of the region’s most discerning craftsmen, builders, architects, and clients.

This position is suited for a seasoned Senior Designer who brings both confidence and depth of experience, and who takes pride in delivering thoughtful, well executed work.

The Role

As Senior Designer, you will lead high-end residential projects from concept through installation. You will be trusted to manage design development, client communication, FF&E sourcing, schedules, and coordination with architects, builders, and vendors.

You’ll work closely with the Principal Designer, collaborating on vision and direction, while independently driving execution and day-to-day decision-making. This is a role with meaningful authority, balanced by professional judgment and a shared commitment to the firm’s standards and client relationships.

This is not a task-based position. It is a Senior role for a designer who is comfortable driving outcomes.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

  • Leading residential design projects from early concept through final installation
  • Managing client relationships with clarity, professionalism, and discretion
  • Driving FF&E sourcing, specifications, procurement coordination, and installations
  • Maintaining project momentum across schedules, budgets, and deliverables
  • Coordinating with architects, builders, consultants, and trades
  • Making informed design and project decisions, and knowing when to escalate
  • Supporting junior team members through direction, review, and example

Who This Role Is For

This role is a strong fit if you:

  • Have 7–10+ years of experience in high-end residential interior design
  • Proficiency in Revit or similar software program
  • Are confident leading client-facing conversations and presentations
  • Enjoy managing complexity: design, logistics, personalities, and priorities
  • Take pride in follow-through, organization, and clear communication
  • Understand that good judgment matters as much as good taste
  • Want to grow and refine your craft and leadership abilities

This role is not a fit if you prefer purely executional work, tend to avoid client leadership, or need close supervision to stay on track.

Location & Work Style

This is a location-specific role based in Carmel-by-the-Sea.

  • In-studio presence is expected at least 3 days per week
  • Regular site visits are required (1–2 days per week, depending on project phase)
  • Hybrid flexibility exists, but this is not a remote position

Interior design is a tactile, collaborative practice. Materials, light, proportion, and context matter, which requires physical presence.

Compensation & Growth

Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience, responsibility, and contribution. Noelle Micek Interiors offers meaningful opportunities for professional growth through increased responsibility, trust, and exposure to exceptional projects.

Details will be discussed with qualified candidates.

How to Apply

Please submit:

  • Your resume
  • A portfolio highlighting completed high-end residential projects where you played a leading role
  • A brief note telling us:
  • Why this role appeals to you
  • How you approach client leadership and accountability

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. We are focused on fit, readiness, and judgment, not speed.

We are looking for a Senior Designer who enjoys responsibility, values collaboration, and takes pride in doing work well.
