We're looking for an experienced, creative, and client-focused Senior Interior Designer to lead full-home and custom design projects from concept through installation. This role blends design vision with consultative sales, project ownership, and a deep commitment to building long-term client relationships.

About Us

Roughing It In Style is a Colorado and Wisconsin design studio and retail showroom dedicated to a personalized client experience. We specialize in quality-built furnishings, custom cabinetry, lighting, and a creative approach to home interiors.Our Fort Collins team works with clients across the Front Range on full-home projects, custom builds, and second-home design.

Key Responsibilities

• Sales & Client Relationships: Build lasting relationships through furniture, lighting, cabinetry, and accessory sales on the showroom floor and at client homes while providing exceptional service every step of the way.
• Design Expertise:
• Create floor plans, room layouts, and material and color palettes that bring each client's vision to life.
• Specify custom cabinetry, lighting, and furniture pieces, and oversee project installations to ensure the design intent is realized in the finished space.
• Project Management: Guide clients through the entire pre-sale, purchase, and post-sale journey. Prepare and present project quotes, coordinate orders, and manage timelines from order to delivery.
• Showroom Presence: Help maintain and elevate our showroom displays so they continue to inspire the clients who walk through our doors.
• Team Collaboration: Partner with our GM, assistant GM, fellow designers, and showroom team to drive sales and create a seamless experience for every client.
• Continuous Learning: Stay current on design trends, product lines, and selling techniques.

What We're Looking For

Required:

• A current portfolio of completed interior design work.
• 5+ years of professional experience in interior design.
• A proven track record of presenting design concepts to clients and closing project sales.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills and a client-centered approach.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Ability to read blueprints and create accurate room measurements.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, inventory systems, and floor plan tools.

Preferred:

• CAD, drafting, or 20-20 Designs experience.
• Background in kitchen, cabinet, and custom furniture design.
• Residential and/or commercial lighting design experience.
• Background in high-end retail showrooms or boutique design firms.

Work Details

• This is a non-commissioned role averaging 40 hours per week.
• Rotating weekend shifts are required, with scheduled days off during the week to maintain balance.
• Schedule flexibility may occasionally be needed to address business needs.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift 25-50 lbs. for showroom tasks and customer service activities.
• Professional appearance and attitude required.

Starting Pay: $24.00 - $34.00 per hour, commensurate with experience & skillset
