Department Details

Scheduled Monday - Friday with varying shifts (primarily Day's and occasional PM shifts). No scheduled weekends or holidays. Shifts can vary in length depending on each site hours of operation. Person must be available to start work at 0645 AM in any location and flexible to travel to any site that needs help. Mileage reimbursement and travel time will be paid. Position provides great opportunity to work in different locations, while providing excellent patient care, throughout the East region of Marshfield Clinic Sanford Health.

Job Summary

Responsibilities include phlebotomy, collecting, preparing and processing specimens biological specimens. Assists in performing laboratory activities and other assigned tasks. Aids in preparing laboratory specimens and supplies. May be responsible for entering laboratory orders and results. Ensures the accuracy and quality of laboratory data in a safe and professional work environment. Expected to train and onboard new employees. Senior Laboratory Assistant (SLA) would be responsible for covering SLA duties and phlebotomy at any of the 6 East Market locations. These locations include Merrill, Wausau, Weston, Mosinee, Wittenberg, and Stevens Point, with Weston being the primary location. Will be scheduled Monday - Friday with varying shifts (primarily Day's and occasional PM shifts). No scheduled weekends or holidays. Shifts can vary in length depending on each site hours of operation. Person must be available to start work at 0645 AM in any location and flexible to travel to any site that needs help. Qualifications

High school diploma or General Educational Development Diploma (GED) required.

One year of laboratory related experience preferred.

Phlebotomy certification required or registry eligible to take exam within 12 months of hire. May be required to have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
