Job Summary
Lead and coordinate laboratory operations to ensure quality, safety, and performance, while fostering team development, optimizing inventory and costs, and driving cross-functional collaboration with R&D, production, and commercial teams.

Duties

  • Supervise lab team activities training and schedules

· Assign specific laboratory tasks for lab technicians.

· Update training records frequently (Machines and test equipment)

· Updating the skills matrix as the employee progresses

· Manage a power BI system that tracks the weekly KPI progress.

· Update the “PET Block Status” Document daily

· Schedule and document customer testing requirements, ensuring a defined timeline.

· Establish and implement a workflow to notify production of material delivery dates needed to meet the testing schedule.

  • Implement and continuously improve Lean culture with a lab program

· Lead a monthly 5S audit and discuss new lean improvement opportunities.

  • Oversee supplies, chemicals inventory and lab budget

· Review the inventory log for low stock items.

· Reorder all supplies and chemicals as needed.

· Update all SDS sheets for materials and supplies.

· Sourcing and stocking materials for the lab

· Create a monthly expense budget management report to present to the Production Manager.

Oversee and analyze testing data in QBA

· Review all testing data being reported from the machine.

· Review the report of mechanical properties from the test.

· Assist in QBA training for new or inexperienced employees.

· Create and maintain QBA generated Certificates.

  • Implement and maintain good work safety practices

· Evaluate machine guarding.

· Support all ISO requirments regarding safety.

· Maintain and manage proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)

· Coordinate and implement safety trainings

  • Coordinate the calibration of machines and lab equipment.

· Evaluate all machines and equipment to verify it is still in use and setup calibration date.

· Assist in the loading and shipping of equipment for offsite calibration

  • Establish a trusted customer relationship

· Assist customers with any questions.

· Manage and respond to customer emails when needed.

· Travel to customer to assist in troubleshooting or a new process when needed.

  • Execute mechanical properties testing to cover the requests

· Prep and Dimention specimens.

· Bond specimens.

· Test Specimens.

· Report testing data.

· Manage the “moisture Content” testing

Education Level:

Bachelor degree on related areas

Professional Experience:

  • At least 2 year on a related areas
  • Proven industrial or research laboratory experience with a focus on polymers or composite materials
  • Working within a professional and compliant laboratory settings

Experience Leading:

1 year minimum

Technical knowledge:

Testing standards and procedures

Hand tools

Machines (MTS y INSTRON)

Fixtures improvement

Troubleshooting techniques

IT knowledge:

Related machines software (Blue hill universal and TW elite Office)

Minitab

Excel and PBI (Visualization level)

QBA (no mandatory)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $29.00 - $32.00 per hour
