About StayQrious:

StayQrious is a YCombinator company re-engineering education to make it more relevant to the real world. It was founded by Aanand Srinivas, former learning head of Khan Academy, in collaboration with Dr. Brian Johnsrud, founder of Stanford's learning science lab.

StayQrious Neoschool is a full-fledged virtual school built to replace conventional schools. It is a model built on the first principles of learning science and behavioural economics. Students work remotely with their peers and meet physically once every few months. Students operate like a modern team: daily stand‑ups, sprints, retros, and OKRs.

At StayQrious, we’re turning the traditional classroom upside down. Our curriculum is project-based, and every chapter is introduced through real-world projects, eg, students making a plan for “Human survival on Mars” and through this they learn about atoms and molecules. This would require you to create exceptional lesson plans in line with PBL pedagogy.

Actually, no!! Lesson plans are centrally designed by our expert team so you can focus on improving the students' learning experience.

As a coach, you will be coaching batches of 8 kids - not lecturing , but facilitating inquiry-driven, Gold-Standard PBL sessions that are engaging, rigorous, and emotionally safe .

Ex: A group discussion on, “Newton said that a body can only change its velocity if something is pushing it, then how can a dog get up and walk by itself?”

A strong facilitation approach: let students test their understanding of Newton’s 1st Law, wrestle with confusion, and finally discover the role of friction.

Beyond facilitating sessions, you do 1:1 meetings with students, helping them set and achieve academic and personal goals. 

You’ll also model and teach SEL techniques by normalising productive struggle, reflection, and belonging. 

• Surprise surprise! Have expertise in facilitating activities for small groups of students.
• Have a quirky and playful personality around kids; they feel comfortable asking silly questions, cracking jokes, and seeing you as a friend.
• Have strong expertise in 8th-10th Maths/Science and are open to upskilling fast.
• Have unique teaching experiences: TFI, IB, KFI, Cambridge, SEL or have taught Robotics, Engineering, etc.
• Are passionate about teaching and making a real impact - a teacher by choice.
• Communicate clearly and warmly in English.
• Are comfortable with technology - Docs, Sheets, Canva, ChatGPT, video tools, etc.
• Are a quick learner - you seek feedback, act on it, and improve quickly.
• Have immense curiosity about new things, and you can model it for your kids.
• People with Karaoke/Improv skills, skip ahead to the last interview round!....JK!
