Senior Legal Associate (Intellectual Property Rights)

Role Overview

We are seeking a qualified and motivated Trademark Lawyer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for advising clients on trademark protection strategies, managing applications, handling oppositions and enforcement actions, and providing end-to-end support in intellectual property rights.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct trademark searches and provide registrability opinions.
• Draft, file, and prosecute trademark applications before the Registry.
• Handle OPPOSITION, RECTIFICATION, CANCELLATION and INFRINGMENT matters.
• Prepare and review legal documents including notices, agreements (assignment, licensing, coexistence), and affidavits.
• Represent clients before the Trademark Registry as required.
• Advise clients on IP portfolio management and brand protection strategies.
• Monitor, track, and manage statutory deadlines and compliances.
• Conduct due diligence and prepare IP audit reports.
• Liaise with clients, authorities, and external counsels to ensure smooth case management.

Key Requirements

• LL.B. / LL.M. from a recognized university; enrollment with the Bar Council of India (or relevant jurisdiction).
• 2–5 years (or more, depending on your need) of proven experience in trademark prosecution and litigation.
• In-depth knowledge of the Trade Marks Act, 1999.
• Strong legal drafting, research, and analytical skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
• High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously.
• Commercial awareness with an understanding of branding and business implications.

Preferred Qualities

• Prior experience in a reputed IP law firm or corporate IP team.
• Knowledge of copyright, design, and patent laws will be an advantage.
• Client-focused approach with strong negotiation and advisory skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
