Senior Legal Counsel

Position Summary:

We are seeking a strategic and experienced legal leader to serve as Senior Legal Counsel, reporting directly to the COO. This role will oversee all corporate legal matters and lead our privacy, regulatory, and governmental affairs functions. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in healthcare, data privacy, and compliance, and will be a trusted advisor to senior leadership.

Responsibilities:

Legal Strategy & Corporate Governance

Serve as legal advisor on corporate governance, contracts, employment law, and regulatory compliance.

Lead legal risk management strategies, including litigation, intellectual property, and vendor negotiations.

Oversee external counsel relationships and represent the company in legal proceedings as needed.

Privacy, Regulatory & Governmental Affairs

Maintain privacy and data protection policies aligned with HIPAA, GDPR, and other applicable regulations.

Monitor and interpret regulatory changes, ensuring proactive compliance across departments.

Engage with government agencies and industry bodies to advocate for company interests and maintain regulatory alignment.

Leadership & Team Management

Manage a high-performing legal team, fostering a culture of accountability, ethical integrity, and continuous improvement.

Collaborate cross-functionally with People, Finance, Product, and Operations teams to support strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active membership in a U.S. state bar.
• Minimum 10 years of legal experience, including in-house counsel roles and team leadership.
• Proven expertise in privacy law, healthcare regulations, and corporate legal operations.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and strategic thinking skills.
• Experience with M&A and/or working in a private equity-backed environment is a plus.
