About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel – Advisory to join our Legal Department. In this role, you will provide high-quality legal support across the bank, ensuring our documentation, agreements, and processes are compliant, commercially sound, and aligned with UAE laws and Central Bank regulations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of legal agreements to ensure enforceability and alignment with commercial objectives
  • Provide timely legal advisory to all business units on corporate, retail, operational, and regulatory matters
  • Review and enhance standard credit facility, guarantee, and security documentation
  • Assist in the management of legal cases and complaints involving the bank
  • Represent the bank before courts, government authorities, police, and public prosecutor offices, where required
  • Conduct research on changes in UAE laws and CB UAE regulations; recommend updates to internal policies and documentation
  • Prepare and submit legal reports to internal committees and stakeholders
  • Ensure effective risk management and compliance with internal and external regulations
  • Draft and translate legal documents in both English and Arabic


Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree in law from a recognized university
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience within a law firm and/or banking environment
  • Strong knowledge of UAE laws, court procedures, and CB UAE regulations
  • Experience with security and credit documentation
  • Excellent command of Arabic and English (written and spoken), including translation skills

Desirable:

  • Experience in banking claims, corporate finance, insurance-related legal matters, or intellectual property
  • Experience working with regulatory bodies and government agencies
