We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Senior Machinist Instructor specializing in both Manual and CNC machining to join our dynamic training team. Responsibilities
- Design and deliver engaging training programs covering manual machining techniques, CNC programming, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and manufacturing best practices.
- Instruct students on the operation of CNC lathes, milling machines, and related equipment such as Fanuc, Siemens, and HAAS controls, ensuring safe and efficient use.
- Teach students how to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD/CAM files using SolidWorks and other CAD software.
- Guide learners through the setup, calibration, and maintenance of precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other precision tools.
- Demonstrate proper use of hand tools, power tools, tooling setups, welding techniques, and plastics injection molding processes where applicable.
- Evaluate student progress through practical assessments and provide constructive feedback to foster continuous improvement.
- Maintain a safe learning environment by enforcing safety protocols related to machining operations, electrical discharge machining (EDM), welding, and material handling such as forklift operation.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a machinist with strong knowledge of manual machining processes and CNC programming using Fanuc or similar controllers.
- Demonstrated ability to teach complex technical concepts clearly and effectively to diverse learners.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and technical drawings with a solid understanding of GD&T principles.
- Hands-on experience with CAD software like SolidWorks or equivalent; familiarity with CAM programming is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of electrical discharge machining (EDM), plastics injection molding, lean manufacturing principles, and assembly techniques.
- Mechanical aptitude with a strong foundation in manufacturing processes, tooling setup, calibration of precision instruments such as micrometers and bore gauges.
- Ability to operate CNC milling machines and CNC lathes confidently; experience with Fanuc controls is preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with basic math skills necessary for precise measurement and calculations.
- Industry certifications: NIMS, HAAS, FANUCs.
