Senior Manager Business Support & Financial Control

About Your Role

You will create added value for the Qatar Airways Group by building strong, trusted partnerships with finance and operational stakeholders through strategic analysis, financial leadership, and insightful reporting. Acting as the primary business partner for senior and executive management, you will bridge Finance (Business Finance, AP, AR, Centres of Expertise) with key business units, ensuring the delivery of robust financial guidance and long‑term planning. In this role, you will specifically support Qatar Airways MRO operations—including Engine operations, Workshops, Heavy Maintenance and Line Maintenance—ensuring that financial plans accurately support operational readiness, capital allocation, and resource availability to maintain airworthiness across the fleet.

You will lead a high caliber team, providing direction, mentorship and motivation to ever evolving missions and will report directly to the VP Business Finance. You will contribute to the Qatar Airways Group’s strategic goals by ensuring optimal resource planning, developing long‑term financial frameworks, and enabling informed decision‑making for future growth, including the MRO 2030 and 2040 vision. We are looking for a leader who can remodel financial processes, drive efficiency, strengthen stakeholder relationships, and support major long‑range strategic MRO projects.

Your Responsibilities

Strategic & Financial Leadership

• Develop strategic multi‑year (5–10 years) financial plans that support long‑term MRO objectives.
• Provide expert financial advisory to the CFO, senior leadership, and CMROO management team.
• Lead business case development for major MRO investments (engine shops, heavy maintenance facilities, tooling, capability development), including cost modelling, revenue scenarios, capital planning, and financial impact assessments.
• Deliver accurate and timely monthly/quarterly performance reporting, KPIs, variance analysis, Economic Value Add (EVA) metrics (Internal Rate of Return, Net Present Value, Payback Period), and sensitivity analysis.
• Identify risks and opportunities across MRO cost centres, ensuring appropriate mitigation measures with line departments.

MRO & Engineering Focus

• Partner closely with MRO operations to support Engine operations, Heavy Checks, C‑Checks, and Line Maintenance planning.
• Ensure financial plans align with operational requirements related to fleet airworthiness, capability development, and capacity expansion.
• Participate in long‑range planning for MRO 2030 and 2040 growth models.

Team Leadership

• Lead and develop a team of Analysts and Managers, fostering capability, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Coach and mentor team members, offering guidance, structure, and clear direction.
• Build a collaborative, high‑performance culture within Business Finance.

Stakeholder & Process Excellence

• Strengthen relationships with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and other key stakeholders.
• Drive process optimization, financial model restructuring, and efficiency improvements.
• Support key Engineering and Group Finance initiatives with a solutions‑focused, customer‑centric approach.
