Senior Manager, Global Quality QMS Effective Problem Solving

Role Summary and Key Responsibilities

The Senior Manager, Effective Problem Solving (EPS) is accountable and responsible for multiple enterprise critical initiatives:

  • System Level Process Owner (SLPO) for the EPS QMS Process
    Serve as the SLPO for Micron’s Effective Problem Solving (EPS) process. This role is accountable for its effectiveness, compliance, and continual improvement across the global Micron network inclusive of all manufacturing and non-manufacturing processes, products and services. In addition, this role is audited both internally and externally and provides key support for customer audits.

  • Owner of the Global Quality Escalation Process
    Own and govern the global Quality Escalation process to ensure significant quality events are escalated to executive leadership in a timely manner, minimizing impact to customers and the supply chain. This includes close partnership with Supply Chain, Customer Quality Engineering (CQE), Quality and Reliability Assurance (QRA), Various Engineering functions and manufacturing sites to ensure that issues are getting the right level of attention required for fast resolution.

  • Operational Excellence (OE) Big Rock Program Leadership
    Serve as the owner and primary driver of the Operational Excellence Big Rock, a global program sponsored by key leadership to focus on reducing operational errors. The role requires a strong strategic and data driven approach, the ability to engage multiple manufacturing and nonmanufacturing stakeholders to drive systemic, cross functional improvements.

  • Global Team Leadership
    Lead and develop a global team of six engineers responsible for key facets of the EPS process. These include Material Review Board (MRB), Return Material Authorization (RMA), and Nonconforming Material standards and business process governance.

  • AI Enabled Problem Solving Transformation
    You will define and drive the EPS AI roadmap. This includes: establishing a clear EPS AI vision and roadmap for AI solutions, prioritizing and delivering high value AI use cases. Establish strong cross functional collaboration with EPS stakeholders and partner teams for integration and resourcing. You should have a strong desire for AI capability and knowledge and be able to drive an AI driven problem-solving process in Micron.

  • Strategic, Data‑Driven Change Leader – Manages portfolio of changes using data to drive prioritization, track progress, and demonstrate value.

  • Influence Without Authority - Builds alignment and drives action across global teams and manufacturing sites.

  • Systems Thinker & Problem‑Solving Leader - Thinks systemically across manufacturing, supply chain, and design environments; drives teams beyond containment to true root cause and prevention.

  • Digital & AI‑Forward Mindset - Curious, pragmatic, and disciplined in driving AI‑enabled problem solving focusing on business value from executable solutions.

  • People Leader & Capability Builder - Develops and leads a global team, setting clear expectations, building depth and succession, and maintaining high standards.

  • Clear Communicator - Communicates complex issues clearly to executives, auditors, and customers with confidence and accuracy.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or related discipline.

  • 10+ years of experience in Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain or Operations

  • Strong hands-on experience with problem solving and driving large global programs

  • Proven people leadership experience (manager-of-managers or senior IC leadership)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in semiconductor manufacturing or complex global operations

  • Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Track record of driving systemic, sustainable high impact improvements (not just event closure)

  • Track record of managing conflicting priorities across multiple stakeholder groups

  • Experienced in defining and prioritizing AI roadmaps, defining AI requirements, and driving solutions
