Senior Manager Infrastructure

About our client

A client within the banking industry is seeking a Senior Manager - Infrastructure & Cloud to lead and evolve the organization’s enterprise infrastructure landscape. This role is responsible for the strategic direction, operational excellence, and modernization of the bank’s infrastructure, network, cloud, and database platforms supporting mission-critical financial systems.

Reporting directly to the Chief Information & Technology Officer (CITO) , the role requires a leader who can operate as both a strategic partner and technical authority , capable of challenging ideas, contributing to long-term technology strategy, and driving innovation across the infrastructure domain.

The successful candidate will oversee a team of engineers across infrastructure, networking, cloud, and database management while ensuring high availability, resilience, security, and regulatory compliance across all enterprise systems.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure & Cloud Strategy

• Define and execute the organization’s hybrid cloud strategy , integrating on-premises infrastructure with cloud platforms .
• Lead enterprise infrastructure modernization initiatives , including platform upgrades, migrations, and architecture optimization.
• Develop long-term infrastructure roadmaps aligned with the organization’s digital transformation strategy.

Infrastructure Operations & Architecture

• Own and manage the bank’s enterprise infrastructure environment , including compute platforms, network infrastructure, and database platforms .
• Lead data center and cloud operations optimization to ensure performance, scalability, and operational efficiency.
• Oversee enterprise network architecture , ensuring secure, scalable, and resilient connectivity across systems and environments.
• Implement automation, monitoring, and operational excellence practices across infrastructure services.

Database Platform Management

• Oversee enterprise database environments including SQL Server, Oracle, and NoSQL platforms .
• Ensure database platforms support high performance, availability, scalability, and data integrity across critical banking systems.

Reliability, Security & Compliance

• Ensure high availability, disaster recovery (DR), and resilience for mission-critical financial platforms.
• Embed security controls across infrastructure and network environments .
• Ensure infrastructure operations comply with Central Bank regulatory requirements and financial governance frameworks .
• Drive ISO 27001-aligned infrastructure governance and security practices .

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

• Lead and mentor a team across infrastructure, cloud, networking, and database disciplines.
• Collaborate closely with the CITO to shape enterprise technology strategy and infrastructure direction.
• Work with internal stakeholders and external technology partners to deliver infrastructure initiatives.
• Translate technical risks, infrastructure performance, and operational metrics into executive-level reporting .

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in IT infrastructure , with at least 3 years in a leadership or team management role .
• Proven experience managing enterprise infrastructure across networks, platforms, and databases .
• Strong experience designing and implementing hybrid cloud environments .
• Hands-on experience managing SQL Server, Oracle, and NoSQL database platforms .
• Deep understanding of high availability, disaster recovery, and infrastructure resilience in financial environments.
• Experience managing enterprise network architecture and security frameworks .
• Strong knowledge of financial sector regulatory requirements and Central Bank compliance standards .
• Familiarity with ISO 27001 governance frameworks and infrastructure security practices.
• Ability to communicate technical strategy and operational risk to executive leadership .
