We are looking for Senior Manager Taxation responsible for overseeing all tax-related matters of the organization, ensuring full compliance with statutory requirements, optimizing tax positions, and managing relationships with tax authorities.

This is a senior role requiring strategic input, strong technical expertise, and leadership capabilities, particularly suited for professionals with experience in retail or service-based organizations.

Key Responsibilities

Tax Compliance & Governance

  • Oversee preparation, review, and timely filing of all tax returns including income tax, sales tax, withholding tax, and other applicable taxes.
  • Ensure compliance with local tax laws, regulations, and statutory requirements.
  • Establish and maintain strong internal tax controls and compliance processes.

Tax Planning & Strategy

  • Develop and implement effective tax planning strategies in line with business objectives.
  • Advise senior management on tax implications of business decisions, contracts, and expansions.
  • Monitor changes in tax laws and assess their impact on business operations, particularly in retail/service environments.

Audit, Assessments & Liaison

  • Lead tax audits, assessments, and inquiries by tax authorities.
  • Handle notices, appeals, reconciliations, and litigation matters where required.
  • Act as primary liaison with FBR, tax consultants, auditors, and regulatory bodies.

Industry-Specific Responsibilities (Retail / Service)

  • Manage sales tax, withholding tax, and other indirect taxes relevant to retail or service operations.
  • Handle tax matters related to multiple outlets, branches, or service locations.
  • Ensure proper tax treatment of revenue streams, discounts, commissions, and vendor payments.

Reporting & Documentation

  • Prepare and present tax reports, risk assessments, and compliance status updates to management.
  • Maintain complete and well-documented tax records for audits and regulatory reviews.

Team Leadership & Process Improvement

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the taxation team.
  • Improve tax processes through automation, standardization, and best practices.
  • Coordinate closely with finance, accounts, legal, and operations teams.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong command of Income Tax, Sales Tax, and Withholding Tax
  • Deep understanding of tax issues in retail and service industries
  • Strategic thinking and strong analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Leadership and team management skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field
  • CA, ACCA, ICMA, or equivalent professional qualification preferred
  • 8–12+ years of progressive experience in taxation
  • Prior experience in retail or service sector is highly preferred
  • Hands-on experience dealing with tax authorities and audits
  • Strong proficiency in MS Excel and accounting/tax systems

Job Timings : 10 AM to 7 PM (or may be changed according to the company requirements)
