Job Purpose

  • The Travel Trade Senior Manager will drive the execution of the destination’s travel trade strategy across regional markets, with a focus on the GCC and surrounding countries.
  • Reporting to the Travel Trade Senior Director, the role is responsible for developing strong trade partnerships with regional tour operators, DMCs, OTAs, travel agencies, and wholesalers.
  • This position will ensure alignment between hotel operators and trade partners, lead market-specific activations, and deliver measurable outcomes that directly contribute to bookings, awareness, and brand positioning.


Job Responsibilities:


Regional Market Strategy & Implementation:

  • Develop and execute trade action plans for GCC and nearby regional markets, aligned with the
  • global Travel Trade strategy.
  • Identify and prioritize key regional trade partners to maximize awareness, reach, and conversion.
  • Adapt destination-wide strategies to fit regional market dynamics and cultural nuances.


Partner Development & Engagement:

  • Build and manage strong relationships with leading regional tour operators, DMCs, OTAs, and travel agencies.
  • Support hotel operators in connecting with and contracting the right regional partners.
  • Develop and implement co-op marketing and sales initiatives with regional partners.
  • Conduct regular partner performance reviews and identify opportunities for growth.


Events & Activations:

  • Lead the planning and execution of GCC and regional trade shows, roadshows, and B2B events (e.g., Arabian Travel Market, Riyadh Travel Fair, local roadshows).
  • Coordinate operator participation to ensure unified destination representation.
  • Drive lead capture and conversion processes from all regional events.


FAM Programs:

  • Oversee the planning and execution of FAM trips from GCC and surrounding markets, ensuring strong operator involvement and measurable impact.


Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Act as the liaison between hotel operators and regional trade partners.
  • Collaborate with Destination Marketing, MICE, Customer Care, Comms, and Online experience to align regional activations with broader campaigns.
  • Partner with regional tourism boards, airlines, and associations to leverage synergies and extend market reach.


Performance & ROI:

  • Define and track KPIs specific to GCC and regional trade activities (market share, awareness, distribution reach, leads, and conversions).
  • Deliver regular performance updates to the Senior Director – Travel Trade and Executive Management.
  • Ensure efficient use of budgets for regional activations with a focus on ROI.

Managerial Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and guide regional executives or coordinators working on trade activations.
  • Manage relationships with regional representation offices or agencies.
  • Mentor junior staff and ensure professional development in line with organizational goals.
  • Uphold compliance with destination governance, budgeting, and performance tracking processes.


Job Requirements:


Academic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Tourism, or related field.


Years of Experience:

  • 10–12 years of proven travel trade experience, with at least 6 years in GCC/regional markets.


Other Requirements:

  • Demonstrated success in managing regional partnerships with TOs, DMCs, OTAs, and travel agencies.
  • Previous experience representing a destination, hotel group, or airline at regional trade shows and events.
  • Strong track record in developing and executing travel trade initiatives for luxury or premium brands.

Technical Competencies:

  • Proficiency in regional travel trade distribution systems and OTAs - Expert
  • Hands-on experience with CRM systems, lead management, and partner portals - Advanced
  • Knowledge of co-op campaigns, sales incentives, and ROI measurement tools - Advanced
  • Familiarity with digital trade engagement platforms, webinars, and e-learning systems - Intermediate
  • Strong data analysis and reporting capabilities for regional performance tracking - Advanced
  • Financial and budget management skills for regional activations and vendor contracts - Intermediate
