Job Description:

UNICO is seeking a proven leader for our Marketing Department to manage and inspire staff, and implement scalable, efficient systems and processes as we grow. The ideal candidate brings a blend of strategic thinking, technical industry understanding, a collaborative mindset, and hands-on marketing execution capabilities. This position seeks an individual with proven success in leading marketing teams and managing complex, varied marketing and communication efforts. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the proposal cycle, brand strategy, and market differentiation in a professional services setting.

This dynamic leader will:

• Champion Innovation: Introduce tools, best practices, and insights from broader industry trends to keep UNICO at the forefront of marketing and business development in the A/E/C field.
• Inspire Teams: Mentor and collaborate with Principals, seller-doers, and marketing staff to foster a culture of business development, creativity, and client focus.
• Guide Pursuits: Lead pursuit planning for high-profile and strategic projects, verifying that our proposals and presentations communicate clear value and differentiation.
• Strengthen Our Brand: Oversee brand positioning and visibility across platforms, reinforcing UNICO’s reputation for high-quality and client service.

Duties and core responsibilities:

• Directing the UNICO Marketing Department staff in the preparation of high-quality proposals, qualifications packages, presentations, and marketing/collateral materials.
• Managing project pursuits, proposal schedules, and quality assurance processes.
• Managing the production of corporate marketing collateral, advertisements, newsletters, and thought leadership content.
• Supporting key pursuits through messaging strategy, visual storytelling, and interview coaching.
• Overseeing external communications, including the firm’s website, social media, announcements, and other materials.
• Providing direction for brand management, market positioning, and external communications.
• Maintaining prospect/client databases and leveraging CRM and analytics tools to track performance and guide decision making.
• Establishing best practices for content development, CRM data management, and marketing operations.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling abilities.
• Strong creative skills; proficiency with Office 365 and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator).
• Experience with CRM systems, content management systems, digital marketing platforms, and analytics tools.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills; proven ability to collaborate across stakeholders.
• Strong leadership, mentoring, and team management capabilities.
• Ability to balance strategic oversight with hands-on execution in a deadline-driven environment.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, marketing, or related field
• 8+ years progressive AEC marketing experience
• Exceptional writing and editing skills with an eye for design
• Deep familiarity with AEC industry language and processes
• Proven ability to juggle multiple pursuits under tight deadlines
• Strategic mindset with meticulous attention to detail
• CPSM preferred
