Senior Mechanical Designer

At ProFlow Pumping Solutions, we repair, design and build engineered pump systems that solve real-world industrial challenges. We’re looking for a skilled senior-level Mechanical Designer who thrives in a hands-on, fast-paced environment and takes pride in turning concepts and designs into reality by working closely with engineering and shop teams.

In this role, you’ll work with various team to ensure designs are accurate, manufacturable, and optimized for performance. Your work will have a direct impact on the quality and efficiency of our products.

Summary

The Senior Mechanical Designer is a senior-level technical role responsible for leading mechanical design projects and developing detailed design documentation for the repair and engineering division at ProFlow.

This position requires advanced CAD expertise, strong mechanical design knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple projects from concept through production. The role is highly hands-on and contributes directly to product development, design accuracy, and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings using SolidWorks
  • Translate conceptual designs, sketches, and specifications into technical drawings.
  • Revise existing drawings and models based on engineering changes or customer feedback.
  • Collaborate with engineers, machinists, mechanics, and designers to ensure accuracy and functionality of designs.
  • Maintain drawing databases, part libraries, and documentation according to company standards.
  • Verify dimensions, materials, and production methods to ensure manufacturability.
  • Support the prototyping and manufacturing process by providing detailed layouts and assembly drawings.
  • Adhere to applicable codes, standards, and best practices for mechanical design and drafting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Design, Mechanical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 5–8 years of mechanical design experience in industrial or manufacturing environments
  • Expert proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
  • Experience with Product Data Management (PDM) or Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems
  • Strong understanding of GD&T, mechanical design principles, and material selection
  • Experience designing for fabrication (welding, machining, sheet metal)
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Experience with pumps, seals, or rotating equipment preferred
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and support light shop activities as needed
  • Proficiency in English for safety, documentation, and communication

Pay: $40.00 - $50.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
