Ain Consulting Engineers (ACE) is currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team in Egypt.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Represent the main office in all mechanical design-related matters for the project and maintain continuous coordination with the Head Office in the UAE.
- Oversee, coordinate, and review all mechanical design deliverables prepared by sub-consultants in Egypt, ensuring compliance with the project’s design brief, sustainability targets, and quality standards.
- Review and provide feedback on design documents, calculations, reports, drawings, and specifications for HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and other building services systems.
- Ensure that all designs comply with local Egyptian authority regulations, codes, and standards, as well as international best practices and main office internal design guidelines.
- Verify that all mechanical designs are consistent with LEED Gold sustainability targets, energy efficiency requirements, and the project’s overall environmental objectives.
- Participate in design review workshops, coordination meetings, and design stage approvals (concept, schematic, detailed, and IFC).
- Review and comment on Revit/BIM models, coordination drawings, and clash detection reports, ensuring integration and coordination across disciplines.
- Assess the constructability and practicality of mechanical designs to ensure smooth implementation on site.
- Review and verify Bills of Quantities (BOQ), cost estimates, material submittals, and vendor lists for accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare and maintain progress reports, design review logs, and tracking sheets to monitor sub-consultant deliverables, comments, and deadlines.
- Coordinate with the project sustainability team to ensure full compliance with LEED documentation and commissioning requirements.
- Provide technical advice to the client and project management team on design optimization, value engineering, and sustainable design strategies.
- Maintain effective communication with the owner’s representative in Egypt, sub-consultants, and authorities to resolve technical and coordination issues.
- Ensure that all design deliverables are reviewed, consolidated, and transmitted to the Abu Dhabi main office for final review and submission to the client.
- Support in the preparation of periodic reports, design review summaries, risk assessments, and project correspondence as required.
Requirements:
- Minimum 15 years of experience in mechanical design and design review for large-scale and luxury developments.
- Strong knowledge of international and Egyptian mechanical codes, standards, and authority requirements.
- Proficiency in Revit, BIM coordination, Navisworks, and clash detection management.
- In-depth knowledge of LEED Gold certification requirements and sustainability design strategies.
- Strong communication, reporting, and leadership skills, with proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
- Experience in cost analysis, material selection, and value engineering.
- Fluent in English; Arabic proficiency is an advantage.
