Senior Mechanical Engineer – Ballistic & Mine Simulation (Mechanical Design Engineer)

Position Overview

Seeking an innovative and technically accomplished Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design, simulation, and development of advanced vehicle systems with a specialization in ballistic and mine resistance simulation. The ideal candidate will drive technical initiatives from concept to validation, ensuring robust mechanical architecture able to withstand extreme operational environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design for ballistic and mine-resistant vehicle components using advanced CAD and CAE tools.
• Perform structural, dynamic, and thermal simulations to validate mechanical designs for safety and compliance.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams including electrical and manufacturing engineers for holistic system integration.
• Develop technical documentation, simulation reports, and test protocols adhering to defense and automotive standards.
• Optimize designs for manufacturability, ensuring high reliability and cost-effectiveness in serial production.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (specialization in automotive/defense preferred).
• Minimum 8+ years' relevant experience in vehicle/defense mechanical design (ballistic and mine simulation is essential).
• Strong proficiency in CAD (CREO, SolidWorks) and CAE (ANSYS, HyperWorks).
• Proven experience leading simulation analysis for vehicle safety and survivability.
• Excellent knowledge of international and regional standards for defense vehicles.
• Strong communication and team leadership skills.

Preferred Skills

• FEA and crashworthiness simulation experience.
• Experience with DFM (Design for Manufacturability).
• Knowledge of materials for ballistic and mine protection applications.
• Experience coordinating prototype and field testing.
