Senior Mechanical Engineer

Job Description:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the UAE. This role requires advanced knowledge of mechanical systems design, implementation, and project management.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the design, installation, and maintenance of mechanical systems in high-rise building projects, ensuring compliance with project specifications, codes, and standards.
• Provide technical guidance and support to the engineering team throughout the project lifecycle.
• Conduct detailed mechanical engineering analyses, prepare reports, and deliver presentations to clients and stakeholders.
• Coordinate with other departments, consultants, and contractors to ensure the successful integration of mechanical systems.
• Review and approve technical drawings, specifications, and submittals.
• Ensure quality assurance and control measures are in place and strictly followed.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources to meet project milestones.
• Lead troubleshooting efforts and resolve technical issues on-site as needed.
• Oversee all construction activities pertaining to mechanical systems including district cooling, ventilation and air conditioning, fire and life safety systems (smoke control/staircase pressurization), heat recovery and BACS
• Shop drawing endorsement, material submittal, method statement, as-built drawing, testing and commissioning review
• Design capability required to review impact of any field change requests (assessment of whether these are minor or major) and coordinating with internal design to complete any redesign deemed necessary
• Coordinate with all disciplines and external stakeholders to ensure the layout of MEP services are feasible
• Prepare or supervise the preparation of drawings for plant general arrangements
• Represent the company in technical meetings with our clients, supervise the work and provide technical and professional guidance to assist their development
• Ensure the development of required documentation for the review process in order to include comments, recommendations and corrective action plans for the prime contractor as appropriate
• Responsible for supervising, directing and coordinating the inspection team
• Ensuring that responses are complete and in compliance with the contract documents. Where problems are found, work with team leader to resolve
• Attends progress review meetings and co-ordination meetings to assist the Project Lead/Senior Engineer in resolving any site issues such as discrepancies in project’s drawings
• Monitor Health and Safety of the construction works and report on the same. If required stop the construction works if unsafe practices are being followed.
• Fully aware of the authorities’ requirements and be able to highlight the same on the submittals, shop drawings …etc.
• Site experience in basic design requirements, estimation, installation and all site activities.
• Familiar with the necessary Engineering methodologies as well as the corresponding equipment, materials, consumables, tools and manpower allocations related to the discipline of expertise.

Candidate Specifications:

• Bachelors’ degree in Mechanical Engineering from an internationally accredited university
• Experience in a similar role with prior experience of working on, Landscaping, residential developments, and large land development projects.
• Demonstrable experience and knowledge of mechanical engineering services including plumbing, fountains, HVAC, public health, fire and life safety.
