Senior Media Editor (Lead Editor) – Ducks Unlimited Media

Position Overview

Ducks Unlimited is seeking a Senior Editor (Lead Editor) to serve as the creative and technical anchor

of our video post-production team. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality flagship content

while helping maintain consistency, efficiency, and standards across all video projects.

The Senior Editor will work closely with the Media Operations Manager to ensure content is delivered

on time and meets brand expectations, while also collaborating with producers and editors to elevate

storytelling and execution.

Each Ducks Unlimited media property (DU Nation, Ascend, Conserve, DU Podcast, etc.) has its own

distinct style, tone, and standards. The Senior Editor must be able to understand and execute within

each brand while maintaining overall quality and consistency.

This is a hands-on, in-office role based at Ducks Unlimited Headquarters in Memphis, TN.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead Editing – Flagship Content

  • Edit high-priority, long-form episodes across Ducks Unlimited media properties (e.g., DU Nation,

Ascend)

  • Shape narrative structure, pacing, and emotional tone
  • Deliver polished, platform-ready content aligned with brand standards

2. Post-Production Oversight (Light Leadership)

  • Maintain consistency in editing style, pacing, and storytelling across projects
  • Provide feedback and guidance to internal editors as needed
  • Review select projects to ensure quality and alignment

3. Asset Preparation & Workflow Support

  • Organize project files and timelines for efficient downstream use (shorts, promos, social content)
  • Ensure clean handoff of assets to editors responsible for clips and distribution
  • Collaborate with the Media Operations Manager on workflow efficiency and project flow

4. Collaboration Across Teams

  • Work closely with Media Operations Manager (workflow, timelines, delivery), Producers (story

direction), and Editors (execution and consistency)

  • Balance creative storytelling with operational efficiency

5. Quality Control

  • Maintain a high bar for storytelling and technical execution
  • Ensure all deliverables meet Ducks Unlimited brand standards across multiple series

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional video editing experience
  • Strong storytelling instincts and ability to shape narrative-driven content
  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro or a comparable professional editing platform
  • Experience editing long-form content for YouTube, broadcast, or digital platforms
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience working with outdoor, hunting, fishing, or conservation content preferred

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working within a multi-series or high-volume content environment
  • Familiarity with content packaging for digital platforms (YouTube, social)
  • Experience collaborating with distributed teams or contractors

Memphis, TN (Ducks Unlimited Headquarters) – This is an in-office role.
