Responsibilities

We are seeking a Senior Medical Officer who will contribute to providing and managing superior patient care while working closely with consultants and the care team. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Provide direct and continuous medical care to inpatients under the supervision of cardiothoracic consultants.
  • Conduct patient assessments, perform physical examinations, monitor progress, and document findings comprehensively.
  • Perform common procedures as per defined protocols and permissions.
  • Coordinate patient management in wards, CICU, operating room, and emergency areas in collaboration with consultants and nursing teams.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and the healthcare team to ensure clarity of care plans and updates.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of clinical documentation, including progress and discharge notes.
  • Support departmental activities related to quality, infection control, and JCIA compliance.
  • Participate in professional development initiatives, educational sessions, and hospital training programs (e.g., ACLS, BLS, PALS).
  • Contribute to departmental meetings, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Provide administrative and operational support as required to ensure smooth departmental functioning

Requirements

You should have the following:

  • MBBS degree; FCPS Part I completed preferred.
  • Additional qualification such as a Diploma or MCPS in a relevant field will be an advantage.
  • Valid registration with the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) or Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC).
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant clinical experience or completion of residency training in a related specialty.
  • Prior experience in cardiothoracic or surgical settings will be preferred.
