We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Medical Officer (SMO) to lead our Emergency Room (ER) operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for:
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage daily operations of the ER.
- Provide prompt and appropriate medical treatment to emergency cases.
- Supervise junior medical officers, nursing staff, and paramedical teams.
- Ensure adherence to hospital protocols, policies, and standard treatment guidelines.
- Coordinate with other departments (ICU, OT, Radiology, Laboratory, etc.) for patient management.
- Handle critical emergencies and trauma cases effectively.
- Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of patient care and incidents.
- Participate in emergency response planning, training, and quality assurance initiatives.
- Monitor patient flow, minimize waiting time, and ensure optimal resource utilization.
- Act as the point of contact for escalated cases and operational decisions in the ER.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- MBBS degree from a recognized and accredited institution.
- Valid PMDC/PMC license (mandatory).
- Minimum 5 years of clinical experience, with at least 2–3 years in Emergency Department as supervisory and leadership role.
- Postgraduate qualification (e.g., MRCEM/FCPS in Emergency Medicine) will be an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of emergency protocols, triage systems, and life-saving procedures.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and crisis management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities efficiently.
- Responsible to attend all the training/orientation sessions related to Quality, Safety and regulatory compliance.
