Senior Medical Officer (SMO) – Cardiac

Job Summary:

We are looking for a passionate and committed Senior Medical Officer (SMO) to join our Cardiology Department. This role offers an excellent opportunity for doctors who are eager to enhance their clinical expertise in cardiovascular medicine, emergency cardiac care, and critical care management while working alongside experienced cardiology consultants in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess, diagnose, and manage patients with acute and chronic cardiovascular conditions.
  • Provide patient care across Inpatient Department (IPD), Emergency Department (ED), and Cardiac Care Unit (CCU).
  • Interpret and evaluate ECGs, echocardiography findings, cardiac enzymes, and other cardiac diagnostic investigations.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, including patient histories, examination findings, treatment plans, and progress notes.
  • Participate in daily ward rounds with consultants and multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient management.
  • Respond effectively to cardiac emergencies and assist in critical care and resuscitation procedures.
  • Provide on-call coverage as per departmental duty roster.
  • Ensure clear and structured patient handovers during shift changes to maintain continuity and quality of care.
  • Contribute to a culture of clinical excellence, teamwork, and patient safety.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • MBBS from a recognized institution.
  • Valid PMDC/PMC registration.
  • FCPS Part-I in Cardiology (preferred) or active pursuit of postgraduate training.
  • 2–4 years of clinical experience in Cardiology / CCU / Emergency Medicine.
  • ACLS and BLS certification (preferred).
