Key Responsibilities:
- Directs, supervises, and guides nursing staff in providing care and ensuring support services availability.
- Maintains high standards of patient care standards in the unit/ department at all times.
- Conducts rounds, chart reviews, and evaluates nursing skills and patient care.
- Ensures adherence to policies, procedures, and nursing standards for care provision.
- Coordinates nursing activities and maintains a conducive working environment.
- Performs specific responsibilities as delegated by Phi Medcare Nursing administration.
- Promote effective interaction of nursing staff with patients, families, and team members.
- Upholds patients’ safety, and rights, privacy, and confidentiality in the ward/ department.
- Addresses patients' satisfaction needs courteously and promptly.
- Implement and clarify the clinics’ policies and procedures to healthcare staff.
- Follow established communication channels as per nursing administration guidelines.
- Resolve urgent concerns and stressful situations directly with patients and staff.
- Leads and participates in changes and innovations in the department/ unit.
- Ensures staff safety, welfare, and development, and positive relationships amongst the team and with patients.
- Monitors adherence to the established dress code policy among healthcare staff.
- Manages and conducts probationary and annual performance appraisals on assigned nurses, setting personal objectives, and identifying any personal development areas.
- Orient new employees to the department and attend KSUMC general and nursing orientation.
- Select and develop senior nurses to become effective mentors/ supervisors.
- Leads the annual training needs analysis plan for the department.
- Counsels and disciplines nursing staff when needed following the agreed policies and procedures.
- Schedules daily department activities, including assignment planning, scheduled meal and break time, and attendance of educations classes.
- Monitor attendance, pre-approve employee leave requests, and submit monthly staff timesheets to HR.
- Resolves conflicts involving staff and/or patients.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
- Master’s degree in Nursing is preferred
- Minimum of 10 years of experience Nursing, 3 of which as a Nurse in Charge
- Strong leadership ability
- Creative problem-solving skills
- Excellent communicator
- Strong administrative skills
