Nurse Manager - Facility in Charge

Facility: Dr. Rahul's Elder Care

Role Overview:

The Nurse Manager at Dr. Rahul's Elder Care plays a crucial role in ensuring the health and well-being of residents, overseeing medical management, managing facility operations, leading staff recruitment and training, and engaging in lead management activities. This position demands a blend of clinical expertise, managerial skills, and strong interpersonal abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Resident Nursing Care:

  • Direct Patient Care: Provide direct nursing care to residents, ensuring adherence to established protocols and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Health Monitoring: Regularly monitor the health status of residents, promptly identifying and addressing any changes or concerns.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the nursing team, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
  • Protocol Adherence: Ensure all nursing practices align with facility protocols, maintaining high standards of care and safety.

2. Medical Management:

  • Interdisciplinary Coordination: Collaborate with physicians, physiotherapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive care plans for residents.
  • Medication Management: Oversee the administration of medications, ensuring accuracy and compliance with prescriptions and facility policies.
  • Health Assessments: Conduct regular health assessments and reviews for residents, making necessary adjustments to care plans based on findings.

3. Facility Management:

  • Supervision: Oversee housekeeping, laundry, food and nourishment services, stationeries, pharmacy, and food delivery to ensure a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents.
  • Utility Management: Maintain and monitor utilities charts, including electricity, water, and biowaste disposal, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Facility Maintenance: Ensure all facility equipment and infrastructure are maintained in good working condition.

4. Staff Recruitment and Training:

  • Hiring: Lead the recruitment process for nursing and non-nursing staff, ensuring the selection of qualified and compassionate individuals.
  • Training Programs: Develop and implement training programs to ensure all staff members are adequately trained and up-to-date with current best practices and protocols.
  • Performance Management: Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to staff, promoting continuous professional development.

5. Lead Management:

  • Customer Interaction: Engage with potential customers, providing information about services and addressing any queries or concerns.
  • Promotion: Actively participate in promotional activities to enhance the visibility and reputation of Dr. Rahul's Elder Care.
  • Evaluation: Visit potential residents at their home or hospitals to clinically evaluate the patient.
  • Conversion: Maintain a high conversion rate of leads to residents by effectively communicating the benefits and quality of care provided by the facility.

Work Hours:

  • Standard Hours: 9 AM to 6 PM, with Sundays off.
  • Meeting Attendance: Required to report to the clinic/main office for meetings as scheduled.
  • CME Attendance: Mandatory attendance at Continuing Medical Education (CME) sessions every Saturday at 8 AM.
  • Facility Visits: Visit all and any new facilities opened in the future at least once a week or as advised by the medical director.
  • Admission Evaluations: Evaluate new admissions on the day of admission, regardless of location.
  • Emergency Availability: Available 24x7 over phone for medical support in case of death or medical emergency. In case of a resident's death, the nurse manager should report to the facility immediately to facilitate death arrangements and complete protocols, irrespective of day and time.
  • Transport: Use own means of transport for official visits.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Stay updated with the latest developments in geriatric care and nursing practices.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant healthcare regulations and standards.
  • Act as a liaison between residents, their families, and the healthcare team, ensuring effective communication and coordination of care.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid nursing license.
  • Experience: Proven experience in a managerial or supervisory role within a healthcare setting.
  • Skills: Strong clinical skills and knowledge of geriatric care. Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of healthcare professionals.
