Job Purpose

The Senior Officer – Corporate Sales & Events plays a pivotal role in driving corporate sales, strategic event management, and marketing initiatives at the Velodrome. This position leads the planning, coordination, and delivery of high-profile corporate, private, and commercial events, ensuring operational excellence, client satisfaction, and brand enhancement. The role also supports the Marketing Team in executing campaigns, activations, and community engagement programs.

All duties must be performed in full compliance with Modon’s policies and procedures, including Health & Safety, Standing Orders, Financial Regulations, and sustainability guidelines.

Roles, Responsibilities & Duties

Event Management & Delivery

  • Lead the end-to-end planning, coordination, and execution of corporate events (conferences, seminars, product launches, gala dinners) ensuring seamless delivery.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for key clients, internal teams, and external vendors, overseeing venue setup, operational logistics, and on-site event execution.
  • Supervise the events team, ensuring staff and vendor activities align with the event plan and Modon standards.
  • Conduct pre-event inspections, risk assessments, and briefings to guarantee safety, compliance, and operational readiness.
  • Maintain and enhance customer relationships through professional engagement and consistent follow-up.
  • Monitor event inventory, supplies, and resources to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Prepare post-event reports, including financial reconciliation, KPI tracking, and recommendations for improvement.
  • Liaise with Hudayriyat Sport staff and other Modon facilities to optimize event operations.

Corporate Sales & Business Development

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to increase venue bookings across schools, academies, corporates, and private events.
  • Develop proposals, RFPs, and client pitch presentations tailored to specific requirements.
  • Represent Modon at industry conferences, trade exhibitions, and networking events.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with clients, sports providers, schools, DMCs, and event agencies.
  • Achieve and exceed defined sales targets, contributing to overall business growth.
  • Coordinate all permits, licenses, and compliance documentation required for event execution.

Marketing & Communications

  • Collaborate with the Marketing Team to develop and implement campaigns that drive awareness and venue bookings.
  • Oversee content creation, social media engagement, promotional material development, and website updates.
  • Support the planning and execution of community campaigns, venue activations, and promotional initiatives to enhance Velodrome visibility.

Qualification Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Marketing, Hospitality, Sports Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 4–5 years of experience in event management, corporate sales, or sports event delivery, preferably in high-profile or large-scale events.
  • Strong understanding of event operating models, sports industry standards, and venue management.
  • Fluency in English; additional languages are an advantage.

Experience & Competencies

  • Proven experience in leading events and sales initiatives in a high-performance environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Health & Safety standards and safeguarding protocols.
  • Excellent organizational, time-management, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and client management abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • Proficiency in administrative, CRM, and event-related software tools.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
