Sr. Operations Engineer (Vessel Modifications upgrades & retrofits).
Job Purpose
To support the development and execution of engineering activities related to vessel upgrades, retrofits, and fleet development projects. The role will focus on preparing technical documentation, reviewing engineering proposals, and supporting feasibility studies for vessel acquisition and modernization initiatives.

Jobs at this level are responsible for the direction and co-ordination of offshore resources, typically on smaller, less complex projects, or as part of substantially larger projects, to ensure that offshore operations meet all contractual requirements in the most cost effective and efficient manner

Plan, coordinate and monitor activities and resources onshore and offshore to project completions.
Key Responsibilities

Developing comprehensive working packages for
implementing construction vessel modifications
including upgrades, retrofits and project-specific requirements in adherence to industry standards, classification society guidelines and OEM recommendations.

Prepare
engineering work packages
for vessel upgrade and modification projects.

Review engineering drawings, technical specifications, and vendor proposals.

Assist in conducting
technical due diligence
for vessel acquisition projects.

Participate in
feasibility studies and technical assessments
for fleet development initiatives.

Support preparation of
technical inputs for business cases, ROI assessments, and sensitivity analysis
.

Coordinate with shipyards, OEMs, and vendors during engineering execution.

Coordinates preparation of planning package and procedures.

Reviews Engineering documentation.

Project specific procedures.

Sub-contractor scope of work.

Client deliverables/progress plan.

Job instructions & variation proposals.

Vendor deliverables.

Final documentation and lessons learned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Preferably Mechanical, Civil, Naval), or equivalent
Experience
-
Minimum
8 years of experience
in offshore marine engineering or vessel modifications.

Experience in
construction vessels, offshore barges, or heavy-lift vessels
.
Skills
-
Knowledge of marine engineering standards and offshore vessel systems.

Strong documentation and engineering review capabilities.
-
Ability to work in multidisciplinary engineering teams.
